CPU being used completely without rest

First, I’ll cover the settings on my machine
CPU AMD A8 3870K 3,00 GHZ
RAM 8GB 1333 MHZ
GPU Nvidia GT 1030 2GB VRAM

it’s impossible to play overwatch.even in 720p quality and minimal settings, the game does not get to 60 fps,my CPU stays at 100% constant use without rest, even increasing the quality to 1080p and high settings, fps does not suffer much and the CPU still continues with 100% use.

The main problem with all this is that it is impossible to play. I’ll describe what happens.

the game does not reach 60 fps and is totally unstable ranging from 10 to 53 fps and causing glitches and closing alone.and the funniest of all is that I play games much heavier than OW without having problems. examples Rainbow six siege, GTA V, Resident Evil 7 …
now monitoring temperatures by HWmonitor, my CPU does not exceed 52 degrees.and monitoring by MSI Afterburner my CPU remains 100% constant in the menus and during the game.

Howdy!

I’d recommend we troubleshoot to see if we can get more performance out of the game on this system.

Step 1) Goto your Documents → Overwatch → Settings → Delete the Settings_v0 file, this will reset the game back to default settings.

Step 2) Set your Operating System and Nvidia Power Settings to high performance!

  • Press (Windows key - Q) The search menu will pop up, type in: Power Options
    Hit Enter. Select: Show Additional Plans → Select: High Performance. Exit the window.

  • Right click on your Desktop → NVIDIA Control Panel → Manage 3D Settings → Under the Global Settings tab → Select: Power Management mode → Prefer Maximum Performance. Apply → Exit the window.

Step 3) It’s a good idea to free up system resources during troubleshooting as overlays, streaming and overclocking software could impact the performance of the game. Let’s place the system in Selective Startup

Retest! I don’t know if we can reach 60FPS but we should be aiming for stable FPS, if the wild FPS swings continue try going to: Options → Video → Make sure Vsync is enabled.

Any update on the FPS dips so many people have been seeing lately? Or are you guys just gonna give generic feedback about optimizing performance, when we have already done all these things and a lot more?

I agree with your comment! Everything Updated on my Side, clean installed it got a bit better in terms of FPS drops, but still unreasonable high CPU usage in some situation, especially in Ranked!
