Imagine a soldier only mode, with a selection of guns and bomb planting. Take out the self healing and rockets and give him a side pistol.

Make it with Mercy instead, then I’m in. Even CSGO has female skins now.
In all honestly, this is probably too much of a rework, unless you are suggesting someone rip the models into a whole different game. Within OW’s workshop, you could probably get kind of close, but I’d guess animation issues prevent him from wielding a pistol.

Isn’t that actually the real problem with OW? A big part of the community wanting the game to look like CS or CoD?
If you want to play CS, why don’t you just go and play CS? Or just ask for a CS mod with OW skins…
Good question, i like modded and modable games. After all CS itself is a half life mod. I don’t go to CS now as I don’t like the “feel” of it anymore : for me it hasn’t felt right since 1.6 was replaced with source. I do however love the feel of overwatch. It’s hard to explain but it’s that feeling of being at one with the game (Like you get with some cars when you drive them)
I also prefer the look of overwatch.
I see no reason that someone clever could not come damn close in the workshop. I’m also surpised it hasn’t been done already.
I was thinking about the 222 132 thing and then that made me think of 5 even characters against 5 even characters. Primarily CS

It should indeed be possible to come with something like this in the workshop. You could also imagine mixed comps with snipers (Widow, Hanzo), infantry (S76, McCree) and maybe defensive heroes (Symm?).
It’s actually kind of a 2CP mode with permanent death and the bombs being two capture points A and B (just very small), and both points can be captured from the beginning.
Of course with no ults or heal.

That’s one way of doing it, my thoughts were along the lines of just having soldier and then giving soldier his normal gun as the rifle, widows gun as the awp, mccrees gun as the deagle etc.

I saw possibly the most insane genji ever last night. Luckily for me he was on my team. I suspect he may have been a deranker. He destroyed the other team. Poor guys.
Or instead of buying weapons you buy heroes.
Actually Ashe has an interesting gameplay with 4 weapons in one (sniper, rifle, shotgun and dynamite).
