The new dps passive buff literally just means dps should go fys and find health packs because numerically it is vastly more effective to double sustain your tank (unless they’re full) and dps objectively should just play tracer or play health packs.
Why would I as Ana (despite my good aim) risk missing my tiny genji or soldier or sojourn with a measly 56 hp shot instead of nearly guarantee pumping a constant 66 into my tank? Unless I have literally nothing else to do that is…
They are massively incentivizing supports to ignore their dps even more than before and incentivizing gameplay that makes tanks even more frustrating than they already were for a lot of players (they’re perpetually double pocketed most of the time…)
It’s funny. If you think about it, the dps passive buff is actually just a nerf to the gameplay of dps players straight up. They just won’t be getting healed like they used to and pretty much SHOULD always be playing health packs instead of with supports.
What’s also funny is I’ve noticed a huge increase in zen and Ana viability since they continue to be able to shut tanks down while double pocketed, and zen healing was never that important/ana can nade her tank and yours at the same time so she wins the heal diff 100% of the time if you ain’t kiriko.
I truly hate double pocketing tanks/no team work between dps and support meta, but as a support player I’ve always been really good at it. So while I hate the passive buff I guess I’ll just take advantage of it.
Ana would help her DPS killing their target with a 75 damage shot. She gonna have time to heal after.
Healing a tank under DPS Passive grants around 44% charge rate. So if a Support wants ultimate, they shouldn’t focus too much on Tank.
Because of discord and long range damage.
You might be surprised by how satisfying it can be to follow your DPS mate and in a 1DPS+1Supp vs 1DPS+1supp situation, going for aggressive stance is usually better for your team and makes your gameplay much more interesting than just sitting and healing behind a tank.
The DPS passive isnt about balance, its about giving salty DPS players a gotcha over the ‘‘OP supports’’ and ‘‘kaiju tanks’’ and all because they refuse to play well or swap.
Of course its existence only forces even more the things they hate. Ultimately they are just unwilling to compromise in any way and demand that Blizz destroys the game pandering to their hurt ego.
Tank/Support/unpopular DPS nerfs, 5v5, reworks like Orisa/Sym/Torb/Mercy, etc.
I play a lot of DPS and the number of times I’ve seen our other DPS not utilizing cover, health packs or just not having basic awareness of their surroundings is just unreal. And yet somehow it’s always the tanks/supports fault. Go figure
