Me and my friends have been trying to get back into OW. In a third of the competitive games we’ve played, one of us has been hit offline.
These people aren’t subtle. They’ll openly brag in either match chat or DM’s.
Are there any plans to, you know, do something about this or should we just give up while we don’t have a lot of time invested?

if you can get pictures of it report it to sony if its a ps4/ps5 or microsoft if its xbo/xbsx/xbss and if u can even get it to blizzard as likely those players would quickly end up being banned and maybe even the feds would get involved as i think ddos attacks are a crime

They are a crime, but you have to prove it.
I don’t think that having chat messages from them is going to hold up, honestly.
I was more hoping for some way to avoid getting hit off or avoid those players.
i think you can avoid them as teammates atleast but while as opponents i dont think its possible right now but they can pull up the logs of the chat as verifiable evidence and go after the person but some routers have a firewall that can help mitigate these attacks ya would have to see what features the router has via who makes it and the model and if the firmware is up to date
Alright, I’ll look into that.
I suppose I feel like I shouldn’t need to buy a special router to play Overwatch though.

what i meant was some routers have a built in DDOS protection i think people have tried to ddos me but was stopped by the router firewall

Blizzard really has little control over people ddosing on console. You should be taking that up with Sony/Microsoft.
I thought you have to have direct contact with someone for them to get your IP.
According to those people, there are certain programs and sites that log IP’s. This is coming from people who are, probably, DDoS’ing. Take it with a grain of salt, I suppose.
Those sites will, of course, whitelist you if you pay a small monthly fee.
