It’s never going to be taken seriously, you know why?
Because instead of properly criticizing actual bull these people along with Blizzard just attack those with REAL concerns and issues. And we get gaslit and told how wrong we are all in the name of again, just a pathetic quick buck.
No sympathy for idiot content creators who won’t do something productive and advocate for games to be for gamers and not to be stupid lame scams. The second any of these fools just sit there and tell me that it is fine when I can clearly see that it isn’t is the second they lose any and all credibility on the matter. They look as stupid as some of the shills around here if not worse.
more than anything else they “omit” this detail. Niandra also broaches this topic in her video of hers when she starts talking about credits / coins. However (it should be noted), both Sylosa and Niandra try to say that they are exaggeratedly disadvantageous offers but don’t use very direct tone against the developers as they often do for patches where they disagree. and above all they just say “we’ll see at dayone, in my opinion it’s not very convenient”. still leave open doubt that those numbers were purposely used to prevent preview testers from using currencies prior to the release of OW2. The same is also noticeable in the possibility of significantly progressing with the BP, which many users have not progressed with it in this preview.
I also agree to postpone the final sentence until the release date. But I don’t think at all that the many of the comments around the gameplay sensations are “manipulated”, we all know that the new heroes are often OPs that are nerfed in the next patch (see JQ in particular).
Just because you lack morals and integrity doesn’t mean everyone does. It’s not a given that personal incentives turn everyone into a conniving, manipulative liar. Speak for yourself.
Yes. If they pay you money. If what they do is invite you to their secret meeting, give you information nobody else has, and you can then leverage that to grow your channel and income, they do not have to say ANYTHING.
However with this arrangement it is in the content creators interest to say positive things about the game and review charitably since they want to be invited to further “secret meetings” and maintain their exclusive and view-drawing content.
" In the simplest terms, whenever you work with brands to recommend or endorse a product you must disclose the partnership. But what’s important to realise is that you still have to declare your relationship to the brand even if they are not paying you to talk about their product."
That’s the thing. There is never an actual agreement to endorse or recommend. Just an unspoken understanding that if the streamer tanks them, the next invite probably won’t be forthcoming.
How much of it is actual bias like you claim and how much is genuine ignorance?
I only watched the videos about monetization by YourOverwatch and Bellular, the first was claimoring the battlepass for its value without really realizing what a time consuming endeavor it can become or how skins packs can be expensive, the second saw right through the BS and called it for what it is, a chore to keep the small fish around so the whales have a reason to spend more cash.
I saw many CC on twiter desperate and calling everyone who criticized monetizarion haters and how popular is to hate on OW, and everyone is spreading misinformation, yeah they are that desperate
It is not insignificant. These morons directly impact the state and future of the game.
Instead of being for the players or their fans, they are kissing Blizzards and being overly defensive of the indefensible at this point.
Again, no sympathy. Any one of them could have told Blizzard that $20 per skin was absurd or $150 to skip the grind is absurd, or having to play a good 120+ hours is absurd. But nope, none of them did. They get direct benefits from people, just like Blizzard does, they don’t care. Just like Blizzard doesn’t care.
I already explained it. I am not going to restate the same things over and over. They had a chance to directly tell Blizzard that their monetization is complete garbage and they opted not to. And now they’re sitting here with copium tweets and videos and literally bashing people with genuine concerns.
Also, I don’t watch any of them, I blocked basically every single one of them this week. They contributed to ruining the game so I don’t want to see their garbage takes or thoughts ever again.
Collectively they had the power to make that change.
On these forums, we’re never heard, and we never will be. The average consumer/player never will be. Those with influence, like these content creators, could have incited a real change had they all said something together. But we all know you cannot criticize Blizzard or you get on the blacklist and not invited to the unfair and bs exclusive NDA creator summits. So because of this they sit there and do nothing, no one ever does anything.
