Is everyone else who is not a smurf or alt having the same experience. I thought the matchmaker was supposed to get things near 50/50 win rate, but in drives my experience is that it’s almost always 20-30% winrate, if that.

Comp is total garbage. Some nights i win a lot. And some of the wins im scratching my head. Some nights im on the complete other side of the coin.

It is by design. The matchmaking cant predict the way people abuse the system to get drives. For example a good player never goes open que but for drives he choses that mode.
Then there are people that de-rank on purpose before the event, cheaters, boosters etc etc. I don’t understand what is in their head when they make stuff like this. To motivate people to abuse the system?
I have a feeling that it will bite them in the rear end sooner or later. People will get tired of being put in that FOMO hamster wheel and through a hellish matchmaking weekend.
On a side note, I would say that drives are an idea that originates from the marketing department where usually such brilliant ideas are born.
I think mine has been around 60-70%. Seems the same as any day on comp to me.
Drives bring back a lot of players. I’ve had quite a few comments in game from people asking about the new heroes and if they are OP. Those who don’t play much are more likely to have an uncertain SR and hence the games are more lop sided than normal.
Last season I had a load of losses during drives but this season it has been about 50/50 for me. Am guessing it was just bad luck.
I dunno, I finished my drives in two nights and I’m not, like, great at the game. Drive weeks have never felt more or less difficult to win in than every other week.

The matchmaker is hot garbage.
This is not new.
It is just worse when casuals flood comp.

The just need to enact a rule that if you have a negative comp winrate. You cannot participate in drives.
That would make it very hard to smurf.
Lots of wallhacking going on.
It’s drives. Don’t expect good games.
Well intentioned. But, the few people that actually smurf don’t care about drives
All that would do is to punch the few well intentioned people who care about drives that have had a bit of an unlucky season. Seems a little unfair.
It’s the same. Ie, totally neutral. It isn’t good or bad. It just does it’s job.
Bad quality matches are not the result of match making
