Constant Disconnecting

I’ve been getting constantly disconnected from Overwatch to the point where i cant log in to the game, in addition to this when I disconnect from the server I cannot log back in unless I exit and relaunch the game.

If this is server-side, please fix this as I’m contemplating leaving the game because I don’t enjoy the constant disconnecting.

There are several hubs not reporting back toward your end of the connection, this may or may not be a problem, but in order to find out lets try a more accurate test by running a WinMTR test which tests from your computer to the server.

WinMTR instructions:

  1. Download WinMTR from http://winmtr.net/download-winmtr/ (Console players need a Windows Desktop Computer connected to the same network as their console to do this.)
  2. Unzip the WinMTR.zip file to the Desktop.
  3. Open the WinMTR folder and select the 32 or 64 bit version. Choose whichever one corresponds to your version of Windows.
  4. Run the WinMTR.exe
  5. Type the IP address you want to trace in the “Host” field. To get the correct IP you will actually need to open up the game and go Practice Vs AI or Quick Play and if you are on PC hit Ctrl+Shift+N and it will bring up the ingame network diagnostic graph, or go to Video > Options > Display Network Performance Graph if you are on any platform including Console. In the top left corner is the IP address you want to run WinMTR to.

    note When looking at the IP it will show up ingame as something like 12.34.56.78:12345. You will want to leave the last 5 digits and the colon at the end off and the IP you want to use is just the 12.34.56.78
  6. Once you notice the connection issue while playing, play for about 6 more minutes, minimize the game and click on “Stop”.
  7. Click on “Copy text to clipboard”, then return to this forum thread.
  8. Type two sets of four squiggly lines and then paste the contents of the WinMTR test between: ~~~~ Paste WinMTR Test Results Here ~~~~

If in the event you can’t even connect to Overwatch and get into any game mode at all, please use one of the following IP addresses based on your geographical region:

  • US West - 24.105.30.129
  • US Central - 24.105.62.129

I’m having this exact same issue. I don’t get disconnected from battle.net or any other games, strictly overwatch.

When I get disconnected there’s no warning, i.e rubber-banding. Its just an instant disconnect. For example I’ll be pushing forward onto the point then get booted from the game with no warning.

Same FFuriosDeml. It’s just straight to “Disconnected from Server”. No Lag, nothing that indicates I might get kicked.

Your home router is showing some concerning numbers. There appears to be occastional spikes in latency (which explains the high worst ping rate) and a very small percentage of data loss. So this might be where any problems are. Have you made sure you have done the following troubleshooting:

Jeff, I’m a friend of the OP and this is an update:
Ok. I upgraded my modem and package. I now get 70Mbps down and around 10-12Mbps up, yet I still get disconnected despite this upgrade. I’ve run WinMTR using the second Europe IP address you provided whilst booting Overwatch and:
