Constant defeats

I’m not really one to moan, or complain but I feel I need to off load into the forum and I understand I’ll get mixed critism and possibly hate for what I say so here goes nothing.

Call it my experience.

I’ve played for years on overwatch, maybe roughly 3 years. Countless hours on quick play, but I’ve now moved to competitive.

Now I know I am a good player, I can play each roll and I think I do a decent job. I avoided playing it because I suffer badly from anxiety and before I click the comp button I tend to not bother unless I have a friend joining me.

Anyway, I’ve played countless games in the past 2 days and I’m losing more games than I can count rather than winning. I can’t find the right balance or the right players to play with and its starting to frustrate me. I wish the game had a fairer balance.

The key issue im coming across is the following:

Smurfing: I’m coming across players which are clearly smurfs and you can tell by their skill in game.

People on subtances: I played a game tonight where 2 people admitted they were on something and becoming frustrating that they just throw the games, or are so out of their mind they just spoil the game for passionate players.

Leavers and Throwers: This is a big issue and I think a better system needs to be put in place to punish these people for what they do.

I feel a detection program needs to be put in place for people being punished for things unfairly such as:

Disconnections
Errors loading into games
Being stuck on screens such as the screen you see of all players with the vs’s sign in the middle because I got punished for 15 minutes due to this and it wasn’t even my fault.

Overall, I feel comp is unfair but I have a huge passion for overwatch and its my one go to game. And its a shame all these problems are going on. I wish and hope to see a fairer system comes into place one day and papa Jeff and the dev team come up with fairer options, and prevent people from being punished for errors which isn’t their fault.

Thanks. GG everyone.

Don’t bother explaining to certain forum dwellers about the fact that you obviously lose lot of games that you deserve to win and the matchmaking is really bad in this game. They will try to suffocate you with new age crap or something.

The only solution to that is play more. Why? Because of simple statistics (not only your skill improvement). You need to compensate bad matchmaking with your time. I don’t know if this is done intentionally but the grind is really big in this game.

The more smurfs, new players, throwers etc the more time you need to play to climb. You will need to get the same amount of them on the other team (which is called luck and not matchmaking) for your contribution to be noticeable. Simple.

If they were to do this they’d also have to prevent people from being rewarded for wins they didn’t deserve. We all hate when we think we deserved to win but either the rest of our team doesn’t pull together or the other team just is better but no one seems to complain when they play against someone who throws or did poorly, or play with a team that carried them when they struggled. Almost like we only look for what we “deserve” when we lose and start looking at anything but ourselves for something to blame. Not saying you’re playing badly at all times or even at all, but there’s always something more that you could have done unless you played perfectly, which no one does.

I agree with both of the above replies. I think last night I just had a bad night and needed to get it off my chest with people who are overwatch related. Thanks for your replies, I appreciate it.
