Console Suggestion: Bind Interact to Reload

The new features added to Overwatch have made the game a breath of fresh air, but as a console player the interact function needing to take up its own button is confusing to me. Playing on console already gives fewer options for control customization so having to use up another button for a feature for (so far) 1 character’s ability is inconvenient.
I think it would be a lot more fluid if interact could share the same button as reload. This would free up space for call out options, control customization, and just bring a general ease of control to console players. Considering the telescope of Horizon already had you press X/Square to look through it I don’t see how it couldn’t at least be an option.
TL;DR: Make an option for interact and reload to share the same button on console.

I completely agree, to console players buttons are a rare and presious resource.
This new “Interact” key has taken away my ability to do quick, in game, tilting voice lines.

And actually there are two things now. Sombra can interact with her teleporter to destroy it too. So that just strengthens the argument.

Especially considering that Mercy and Torbjorn need an extra button to swap weapons. There’s no place to put an interact button without giving something important up on the control scheme.

Don’t know how others have their controls set up but my left d-pad is usually open (by open I mean I use it for voice lines, lol). I’d probably bind it to that but binding it to reload sounds like it would work too.

Yes! I’ve been saying this since the patch hit!

Let “Interact” share a button with reload!

What, are we gonna accidentally reload or something? What about the characters that don’t need to reload(Doomfist, Brigitte, Reinhardt, Hanzo, Moira, Mercy to an extent)?? That button is free, and yet we can’t bind it because it’ll make us unable to swap heroes.

Honestly, “Interact” could really just be “hold down (square/reload/insert binded button here) to use” and everything will be fine.

I typically have my “L3” to call for healing for characters (or for Mercy it’d be her Rez and this absolutely stays because I am NOT doing anymore mistakes rezzes anymore. Getting used to GA on ‘X’ was weird enough), and it could’ve been all around easier had it just been this.

I had to bind it to caps lock since everything is taken on my keyboard and now I end up typing “CAN WE GET A TANK” and everybody thinks I’m mad.

they never care about console, its exactly the reason why pharahmercy is a much bigger issue on console then it is on PC, console players dont even have text chat or even a “request to join group” option but PC does.

So I highly doubt they will do something like this for us console players

I can hope, though.

it’s just annoying when other games like rocket league(which also has crossplay with pc/console) and warframe have same stuff for both PC and console and no one is left out…but in overwatch console players are completely 2nd class citizens compared to PC

Yea I’ve been rocking it on L3 too. It’s the only spot that doesn’t feel out of the way.

Yeah I had to use the “Hero Info” button to assign “Interact” since I had no room. (I use push to talk)

Honestly I just wish we could double up controls for other things. Weapon switch and interact is the least of the problems. It’s like the sneak key. I pretty much never used it before in my life. I mean I guess it makes you walk quieter, and you could T-bag with it. But I pretty much never played a hero where it mattered.

Now you need it for Hammond’s pile driver move. I play on PC and I still finding problems. Nearly every key is taken and if i try to change anything it over writes another command. Which it would be nice if it ask “are you sure” before doing so.

Please Jeff give us this, pressing down on my left stick sucks.

I usually have it right on the d-pad
