One of the most notable advantage keyboard and mouse input has over controller is movement, they can have both flicky sensitivity and great tracking, this specifically makes certain techs, like 180 blink melees on Tracer, which can determine who wins a Tracer 1v1 feasible, or flicking from target to target on genji.
Controller input makes things like this very difficult, paired with the aim assist, it almost entirely explains the hitscan meta on console, unless you’re on Xim, aim assist and slow sensitivity makes flex/projectile characters much harder:
In my opinion, a huge positive for the game would be to improve either how fast the sensitivity can go up to (I.E. Marvel Rivals’ 500% system) or make certain hero settings allow for faster movement while using specific abilities, like adding a sensitivity boost while using blink on Tracer (like with ball in ball form) to make those Melees feasible (and to snap better onto targets, instead of slowly moving).
On that note, my current solution to the more sluggish sensitivity problem is to use dual zone and ramp down my right stick dead zone outer, this basically crunches the dual zone chart so that you’re at the max speed much faster, and dual zone at 100% is faster than linear at 100%
Hopefully some of the devs look into this and make some changes, it’s been hard trying to play flex dps on controller!
