Console Push to Talk Broken

Currently doesn’t work on Console after just being added. I’ve got it bind to L3, if it works for you what do you have it set to?

Make sure it’s set to that for heroes you have custom key bindings to.

If I change it under “all” it won’t change it for everyone for some reason.

Also there should be an option under audio for PTT vs open mic. Maker sure it’s set to PTT. Just because you have a button assigned doesn’t mean its set on PTT.

Thanks! I’ll make sure to fix it

Let us know if it worked.

Seems to still not be working, and I can’t find the button you were describing in my sounds menu. It’s non exsistent on my console

Maybe console doesn’t have one. Did you check your bindings for each hero, particularly the one you’re trying to PTT on?

Just make sure you have a button assigned to PTT. Also make sure your mic isn’t muted

I haven’t been able to get it to work either. PTT is set on the individual hero and the All Heroes and still no luck.

Wait they added push to talk on console?
runs to xbox
loads overwatch
looks through settings

The Push to Talk control on Console won’t work until the ability to change Voice Chat Modes gets implemented.

Until then, it’s stuck on Open Mic.

Thanks for the update :+1:

What do you mean by changing Voice Chat Modes? Console player here, so not sure how it works differently on PC.

On PC, under the Sound sub-menu of Options, there is an option under Match Voice Chat called “Voice Chat Mode”. The two options for it are ‘Open Mic’, and ‘Push to Talk.’ Since this option is non-existent on Console (as of this post), it’s stuck on Open Mic. If the ability to change Voice Chat Modes was implemented, then we would be able to use Push To Talk as well. However, until the ability to change Voice Chat Modes gets implemented on Console, the Push to Talk Control is useless since it doesn’t do anything without that Voice Chat Mode.

I know all of this because even though I play mainly on Console, I do a have a PC copy as well.

Ahh, I see. Thanks for the explanation. That makes sense.

The developers didn’t even test the option before releasing it. What a shame. I hope they fix next Tuesday with the event’s update.

Still not working…

It works. You need to bind the ‘Voice Chat - Push to Talk’ Control, and you also need to make sure that your Voice Chat Mode is set to Push To Talk. Also ensure that the Voice Chats themselves are on to begin with. In games, you need to also make sure that you’re holding the control and not just pressing it to talk via Mic.

I’ve already tested it and it works just fine.
