My Fellow Console Brethren, make sure to get your PlayStations, Xboxes and Nintendo Switches ready cause the Pre-Downloads for OW2 are Rolling Out! Only 3 more hours left and we’re home free.
(Select the OW1 Client, and Select your Console’s Equivalent of “Check for Updates” to initiate the Pre-Download. OW2 will update and replace your OW1 Client.)
UPDATE
The Pre-Downloads seem to be rolling out for PlayStation! Mine just started. (File Size says it’s 22.262GB, so make sure you have enough space to update! *Nintendo Switch’s file size estimate is 16 GBs)
The PS5 Version of OW2 will NOT be available for Pre-Download until 11:00 AM Pacific Time, or one hour from now.
PS5 version should be available to download now!

I just need to know if we need to download anything new, or will our original OW1 be updated to OW2!

Nice. Is this confirmed somewhere or just an educated guess?

Just a wild guess because of pc version

I have some Xbox friends who’ve already had their client pre-download, and it was an update… so I’m kind of basing it off that. But yeah, like Fluttershy said, the PC Client also just updated so I’m assuming it’s the same for Console, too.

I wonder how the Switch version will run. If it couldn’t even maintain 30 fps before things are looking rough.

I’m stuck at work and won’t be home til like 2 hours after launch, then have to update… I’m gonna get blocked by the servers going down

Just simply go to your OW1 client and select whatever “Check for Updates” option there is for your console come 30 minutes from now, I think. Hopefully this ends up going more straightforward then the Beta Download.
Checking in as an Xbox gamer- anyone seen any updates about the “post-paid SMS” requirement?
I know that blew up hard about a week ago, curious if anyone had heard anything new and this smaller, new forum thread is less scary. XD

As far as I know, no… I’ve also been kind of steering clear of those threads cause of how volatile some people have been in them. It’s a shame. This SMS Protect non-sense is ridiculous.
Glad I’m not alone in that… I have a provider not accepted by Blizzard which kills me because I did buy Watchpoint and it was slightly misleading.
But there is one, final attempt I am willing to make before I actually give up. I played the Beta, so I do not think it will be acceptable if I find myself unable to play the actual game.

I am in EST in America. Overwatch runs off of PT.
We are two hours ahead, I believe.
Edit: four hours behind- apologies.

But that is also for launch, we are talking about approximate download time. Which would be at 12pm.
