Console players can't join the PC pool?

Console players can’t join the pc pool without a PC friend? Is that right?
This still very unclear to me. If that’s right, this is awful. Let the game be full crossplay! You guys are making the queues of PC not being benefited from the crossplay if you do such a thing. And also, you are punishing people who only solo queue or dont have friends from the other platform!

Hey boss, I want to keep my aim assist sometimes, but I would appreciate the option to toggle between console pool and pc pool

From what I gather if you solo queue as a console player. You will only play with console players. If you party up with console players you can be matched with both. If you party with a PC player. You are matched only in the PC matchmaking pool. The whole FAQ and video they release is not very clear on this either. I could be 100% wrong on all of this.

This is awful. People who only solo queue can’t enjoy the crossplay!

Yes. That is true and perfectly fine

PC players don’t really benefit from the console community boosting numbers.

Console players will benefit from having more console players to play with/against.

I want boosted numbers on my arcade games and in quick plays. The arcade is litteraly dead. Overwatch needs boosting numbers, in all platforms. They should at least let the console players chose!

That is correct. Console players only go into the console pool unless they group up with a PC player.

Total Mayhem is the most active arcade mode by far. Give it a try.

It’s like this for QP/arcade:

Solo console player goes to console pool.
Groups of console players go to console pool.
Solo PC player goes to PC pool.
Group of PC players go to PC pool.
Mixed group of PC and console players go to PC pool. Aim assist is deactivated.

For comp, currently all players go to their platform specific pool. In season 29, all console players will go to console pool and all PC players will go to PC pool. Mixed PC/console groups will not be allowed in comp.

Thats what crossplay is aiming to do,

But they could improve the situation by having arcade modes more people actually want to play.

Mystery Heroes is actually slightly ahead…

But still, neither bring in that many players.

If I remember from the time they published the numbers it was barely 2% with TM and MH combined.

Yeah that’s what so disappointing for me. I only solo que and I was looking forward to playing with our console brethren on QP .

All consoles having crossplay should be more than enough of a player count boost for games like arcade and quick play.

The problem with QP is the same problem we face on PC which is totally separate from crossplay altogether. That’s the role lock problem and our tremendous tank deficit in Overwatch.

That’s probably why you wont see a big increase in QP queue times. Maybe even a decrease in some cases. But someone OKd this project… so here we are

You DO get cross-play in solo queue on console, just with other consoles.

ALL console players with crossplay turned on will play with eachother. Look at your recently played list in the game. Anybody WITHOUT the symbol of your specific console, is playing on a different console.

If you turn crossplay off, you will only play with your specific console people.

I believe PC solo queuers and groups under 5 can still run into console players, if a party in the lobby has them? only comp is totally segregated.

Console solo queuers still benefit from crossplay by being able to play with other platforms. Console players with crossplay disabled only play against people on their native platform. I dunno if they even have crossplay within the same ecosystem (PS4 with PS5, Xbone with XSeX) otherwise

Theres no benefit to a console solo q’er playing against PC players since they’d probably get bodied.

There are benefits. They would be playing in the more competitive platform, and can get better in the game. When I was a console player I felt stuck in low level tiers of play because I couldnt use mouse and keyboard, and because no one tried the game really hard, and I couldnt improve in that enviroment. If they let everyone play together in a single pool, a crossplay pool, in that pool console players could opt by using mouse and keyboard if they wanted to, and that would be a big benefit for those who want to try mouse and keyboard. And it would be still a bonus for those who want to play Controller and get better by competing against better players. Some PC players use controller. The crossplay could be the oportunity to make the consoles more competitive, even if only on casual modes.

lol laughs in qp classic

I’ve been playing all day and my queues haven’t been more than 30 seconds long, including avoids.

My roommate and I are trying to play comp cross play. Neither of us are on pc. It says we are not in the same competitive pool. Anybody know a solution?
