Its been 17 seasons and we still havent had a full mmr reset. Its what we need to get the boosted mercys out of T500 (They literally play 50 games, are private and play just mercy) *on console atleast
Xbox overwatch is a mess right now, and the only way to really fix it is a mmr reset, raise comp level to like 75 to remove smurfs and crossplatform between xbox and ps4. Then we could add a new feature for Blizzard to have a friends list with our blizzard accounts that we only use for overwatch league tokens. (If sony would actually say yes to crossplatform)
The only thing that is good here is crossplay and Sony is preventing that
MMR reset would be pandemonium

What mess? Your erroneous claim that console OW is dead when I regularly find matches on PS4? (I can’t speak for xbox because… well… why would I buy an xbox?)
First, There are way too many smurfs on xbox atleast, not sure about ps4 but im assuming its around the same. Fixing that would be as easy as making comp level 75 so new players would get more time to learn how to play with this many heroes.
Second, MMR reset would help a lot. Three years old, we should have a reset.
Third, I dont know why youre bringing console wars into this, thats pathetic. (PS4 controllers suck in my opinion and they are really just uncomfortable)
Fourth, It is dead. When you cant find a game against players at your own rank and its just smurfs. Its pretty dead. Barely have fun in comp because you have to worry that your teammates are actually good. Why dont I just quit and find another game? Because theres no actual good games that came out that are good. Still waiting. Overwatch 2 better be a thing and better be good lol
You havent played xbox comp, every rank is just smurfs. Its rare to not have 2 or more smurfs in your game. Six stacks might even go against 2 2 stacks and 2 solos. (happens all the time now)
Why wouldnt we have an MMR Reset? Like give everyone a second chance to see if they are worthy of the rank theyre in or deserve better or worse. Youre right about bronzes going against gms but if theyre bronze, they prolly deserve bronze. The other problem would be Mouse and Key. Just base placements on your own performance and after every placement it puts the player in a match against players with similar stats to where it eventually gets you in your true rank.
Not sure how PS4 is, Ive seen some people having smurfs but im really not sure how ps4 is. Ive heard that the t500s are terrible compared to xbox t500s. (prolly due to mnk)
And ps4 only has good singleplayer games to be real with you, i wouldnt call call of duty good, have you seen the past games? lol
So a high rank player will be put vs a low ranked player. Sure thats one end of the spectrum. Youll also have other people from multiple ranks and same ranks trying to beat each other (and actually trying bc those wins/losses actually count towards your Sr and mmr). Id love a reset. Just because I wasnt so good at the beginning of the game coming out and not taking advantage of OP characters when they were OP in their time doesnt mean I should stay around the same rank for the rest of the time I play on ps4. Im sure if i make a smurf knowing what i know now i can place higher. Doing that would also cause me to make a smurf which is another issue thats brought up.
