Console or PC Gaming?

With the release of Switch 2 it’s time again to ask: console or PC gaming?

Peasants or master race ?

Why even question

And switch2 are not even peasants they are cupboard mushroom growers.

The master race is always superior :muscle::triumph:

More like: PC or Noob? Sorry, I truly disrespect any other ways of playing game rather than on PC. Playing games not on PC is like playing basketball on a wheelchair - might still be entertaining, but why would you disable yourself like that, you can walk, man.

Like every single other reasonable human with a job and some entertainment budget, I will play games on whatever platform has the games I want to play.

Looking forward to Metroid Prime 4 on my switch when it comes out but currently using it to play MHRise and Void Terrarium 2 and currently playing OW, helldivers 2, FFXIV, and MHWi on my PC.

Clinging to tribalistic BS is the only thing I’ll continue to make fun of. Play what you like on what you like.

I’m sorry for anyone who is planning on playing this game on Switch 2, honestly, I don’t even play Overwatch on my normal Switch.

While I’m sure playing on PC would be better for hand-eye coordination, honestly? I have just played it on Xbox so long I couldn’t be asked to play it anywhere else.

Now play OW as it’s in the 2010s not the early 2000s. Count me in coach

Console players where are you? Isn’t console gaming more affordable?

I like console more I don’t have to hope the PC port is playable or if my system can handle it.

I also can’t handle the endless tweaking and optimizing of PC.

I been playing PC games for ages and it not endless. The only ones who says those are who never touched pc gaming in their life.

Back in 2016 the Switch would come to dominate with a large colleciton of decent titles and corner a market in handheld gaming that hadn’t really existed before.

The closest to this was the PSP vita, but the power and portability of the Switch was good enough to be super appealing as a standalone system over things in the past like the tiny screens and controls of DS, Gameboy, etc. that mostly fit the hands of smaller people instead of most adults.

Later on the Switch would start to have some series competition form newer hardware such as the Steamdeck and the other games that run Windows natively. Own the steamdeck now, its literally a linux PC (with docking station for PC/Mouse) and a portable gaming platform with the entire steam library available for the most part with some exceptions. Its incredibly appealing to me to have.

I’m seriously considering NOT getting the Switch 2 especially with their changes to $80 games and no longer proper physical copies. I’ve slowly gone away from most of Nintendo’s IP because it no longer really interests me and its pretty much only Smash, Fire Emblem, and some misc games I’d be okay playing that would keep me interested.

I played on consoles (mostly PlayStation 2 & 3, but also some other ones) until I was about 15 years old and I got my own PC, and I haven’t really gone back since. The only “console” that’s sort of tempted me is the Steam Deck (or just any handheld that uses SteamOS), cause the idea of playing some of my games on the go is pretty neat, but I just don’t travel enough for it to really be worth it, at least atm.

All the console exclusive franchises that I loved as a kid have either died (RIP LittleBigPlanet), been ruined with the later sequels (coughs, Ratchet & Clank), or they’ve just been ported over to PC / I can emulate them, so I’ve not felt the need to get any console on that front either.

For Overwatch specifically (and I guess FPS games in general), I just can’t play it without a mouse + keyboard tbh. I have a controller and I have tried to play with it, but I just cba to put in the effort to re-learn how to aim with gyro and/or the thumb stick.

The only recent console I have is PS3. I wish it supported more F2P games like Overwatch. I ended up only using PS3 to play games like Tekken 6 and Tekken Tag Tournament 2. Although I’m kinda curious how Overwatch feels like to play on consoles, given that I already have a gaming PC, I can’t justify myself in buying consoles just to play Overwatch. But Nintendo Switch is temping though because of exclusive games.

I’m the same but opposite. PC’s should’ve stayed in work offices XD to me mouse and keyboard feel so awful, didn’t feel immersed or connected to the game at all when I tried my friends.

Obviously I can see the advantages on pc with games that have an aiming mechanic. But that’s it, y’all get to work use your whole arm to aim and we only have our thumb, no other good things about m/kb. Skill issue on pc players end.

Just my opinion ^^

I won’t be buying a Switch 2 based on what I’ve seen so far. Nintendo are going back to the bad old days of charging far too much for their games, and I haven’t seen enough third-party titles that benefit from the extra juice yet.

I’ll just stick with my Switch 1 for the time being.

I mostly play on Xbox nowadays, occasionally Switch if I’m travelling. I’ve not really played on my PC for the past two years as it’s a rust-bucket that desperately needs new parts.

I’ve got little interest in buying the Switch 2, Steam deck or “Xbox” handheld due to how expensive they are. Handheld gaming isn’t the cheaper on-the-go alternative that it used to be.
