I know my console threads don’t get much love, but blizzard plz consider dead zone sliders for ow.
I’ve started playing fortnite and the aiming (especially while scoped) is a dream for us. You are getting outdone by a free to play game. But that ftp game is the most played and watched in the world right now. Show some love to us and get your rightful number one spot we won’t let you down.
Aiming feels TERRIBLE in ow console

What are the differences between aiming in fortnite and ow? Don’t have a console, just wondering.
Just use linear ramp and modify your AIm Smooth and Aim Ease to your liking once your base sensitivity speed is setup. Overwatch arguably has one of the most customizable aiming systems in a console game. I’ve become so spoiled by it I have difficulty playing other “Shooters” on console such as Destiny 2; where the aiming system is auto-locking and is anything but pleasant. They just give you a sensitivity number between 1 and 10 and forget all else. How cumbersome.
Hmmm…fortnite has the deadzone which makes it feel a LOT less twitchy, and the ramp must be different.
It also just feels smoother but a lot more controllable on high sens.
Kinda hard to describe haha
Btw, whats your sensitivity settings? please share, Im looking for reference. The only thing I modify was disabling the aim assist. Ive read several post about this so I give it a try, but I didnt really feel the different though.
Do you use Controller or KB + Mouse? Im using Nacon Pro Controller 2 now. Im on PS4 btw.
I’ll respond when I get home from work! Respond so I can double post haha
What a stupid response. Literally no aim settings matter if you have stick-drift up the *** with no way to be rid of it because there are no dead zone settings.
Well for one you’re aiming with a joystick as opposed to a mouse, so there are a number of different settings associated with it.
Joysticks operate by basically using an internal x-y axis to determine what direction you’re pushing it. All controllers have a “dead-zone” around 0,0 that indicates you aren’t moving the stick. However, as they age, the dead zone can become smaller and smaller, or shift somewhere else entirely. This means that your controller will think you’re aiming left, right, up, or down when really you’re not touching the joystick at all. This leads to what is called “stick drift”, where your aim in-game will “drift” in some random direction with no way to stop it. It’s infuriating and very difficult to aim with.
Dead-zone options allow you to basically expand the area at the center of the joystick that qualifies as the dead-zone. The worse your drift, the larger you will likely need it to be.
Given that this is the inevitable fate of all joysticks, not including this as a feature is really disappointing for console players because it basically means you need to have a brand new controller in order to play.
Holy necropost, Batman!
Seriously though, joystick drift is a gigantic problem IN THE MENUS. I can barely navigate the menus in the game on console because my joystick drifted 0.0001% and the selection in the menus goes bonkers.
It’s REALLY bad when I’m trying to adjust sliders for options, ironically like the ones for joystick sensitivity.

i have the same problem with my scuf controller (Aimcontrollers) on PS4. Had this problem in the menus even in OW1, but now in OW2 its like 10x worser. But when im ingame, everything is fine, only in menus or when i need to adjust sliders its absolute nightmare.
