It seems that the last patch has caused problems with the aim mechanics on console. (The aim mechanics / turn speed limit are poor anyway but now they’re nearly unplayable) For the past few days I thought I was imagining it, until I found others also with the same problem.
Please tell me you’re looking in to this? It’s really making the game feel unplayable, especially in competitive.
It’s not a controller issue either because I had a brand new unopened controller that I decided to open and use, the same problems still exist. I’ve also tried all the aim techniques, expo/linear/dual zone.
Something has been messed up as from the last update we received…
What I would give for Overwatch to have the same turn speed limit and aiming mechanics as Call of Duty and Battlefield on console. Instead, even with maxed out sensitivities everything feels slow and clunky compared.

It’s still manageable but I’ve been noticing someime for some time now.
Let’s say there’s a Tracer infront of me, I’m shooting her. Next thing out of nowhere, an enemy runs across my screen, it just throws my aim off and tracks the other person. I thought it was me but I notice I’m never moving my analog when this happens.
I don’t know if this is what you’re talking about or not. But if it is, yeah it could do with a fix but the game is still playable.
Yeah this is part of it, and that could be because of aim assist strength I thought, but it even happens now when you turn aim assist and aim assist window down to 0 !!!
It’s like your aim has a mind of it’s own now. Sometimes it’s like there is an invisible barrier too blocking you from aiming/turning.
It’s all very strange.

Yeah I get those too.
I’m glad I’m not the only one.
It’s very likely blizzard knows about this.
Expect a fix when next they update. Whenever that is and lets hope nothing else goes wrong.
In the advance settings is “Aim Smoothing”, reduce it. Aim Smoothing makes the center stick movement much slower on screen, and the more aim smoothing you have, the father you have to move the stick to his the speeds you selected. Chances are, it’s at 100.
I’ll have to pull my settings, but I love them. Not great for Widow, but pretty good for everyone else.

It’s nothing to do with the aim smoothing bud.
I love turning down aim smoothing. Makes everything more twitchy and it’s easier to react to an enemy
Turn your aim smoothing to zero, it will speed you up quite a bit but it’s not a 1:1 input speed. This game is way slower than call of duty, yeah. Even at the highest settings
I know about the aim smoothing stuff which basically increases/decreases the stick deadzones, but I am not talking about an aim smoothing issue. Even with 0 aim smoothing the aim mechanics on the game since the last update are erratic. It’s really hard to explain but if you check the reddit link I posted you’ll see the issues I am talking about.
Something has gone weird since the last update. The fact that aim is getting tugged all over the place with 0 aim assist and aim assist window on shows somethings fudged up.
Ahh OK. So what I have noticed, and it’s at random, my aim speed changes. Like all my settings suddenly do not apply. But it’s usually only for a second or two.
As a sidebar question, are you using custom elite controller or scuff settings?
Also, what Console are you using? I’m on Xbox.
