Console account merge, all stats and skins lost

Around a week or two ago, I attempted to merge my Xbox and PC accounts to play Overwatch 2. I followed all the instructions provided by Blizzard to the letter eventually getting to the point of connecting my Battle.net and console account. The first issue emerged here as it tried to auto-connect me to another account on the same console, which is strange as it uses a different email than the one I created the battle.net account with. To resolve this, I manually went onto my Xbox and attempted the account merge from there which seemed to work as the right account connected to my battle account, and the prompt on my PC asking me if they had the correct account was the same in game. However, after confirming that the account was correct in the Overwatch 2 menu, nothing happened. Restarting the game just lead to the game asking the same prompt, which, after confirming it was the correct account, disappeared again. This process looped until I eventually clicked the second option of “skip for now.” Never again has the prompt appeared and I am unable to find the option to bring it back. In addition to this, my console account has now effectively been wiped as it now recognizes my pc account as the main one there. Effectively, all of the progression and stats I had accumulated over my playtime have been lost since I attempted to merge my accounts.

I’ve had this same problem too, is there a fix?

I’m experiencing the exact same problem and Blizzard Support isn’t helping. Now every time I log in on my Xbox - after only playing Xbox for the 2 years I’ve been playing OW - it tells me to log into my battle.net account. I haven’t touched OW since my accidental merge since it’s making me unlock my characters even though it never made me do that because I’ve been an OG Origins player.

same thing is happening to be but instead it wanted me to connect battle.net to xbox, but after hours of waiting, refreshing, exiting, and logging off it took away my ability to merge accounts and now I have lost 3 years of skins, highlights and hours of gameplay just because they wouldn’t let me play without the connection. I had also bought battle pass and league skins and now I just lost money over it. I don’t know if I need to just work something with the xbox settings or what.

I’m currently having this same issue. Years of progress lost and support is doing nothing about it. This needs to be fixed asap

Encountering the same issue, played Overwatch on console since day one (pre ordered) and never needed a battle.net account, tried merging with my pc account to attempt to change my console in-game name and lost all competitive progress and skins, some of which cannot be purchased anymore. Cannot log in without a battle.net account anymore, so my console account is now in a void somewhere. Needs a fix immediately.

My career profile says I have ~650 hours, when in reality I have almost 3k. It keeps taking my hours on heroes away even after taking 77% of my hours on the switch from Ow1. It’s ridiculous. I’ve been playing since 2017.

decided to create a battle net account with the same xbox email but ive lost all my progress and skins. basically a brand new account. does anybody know how to fix this?
