I play competitive Overwatch on Playstation 4 and usually play in a 6-stack that averages around diamond rank. Lately the queue times have been outrageously long. We are often waiting 1, 2 or 3 hours to find a game, if we find one at all. The fact that the queues are multiple hours is why I’ve posted this in the “Bug Report” section; it really does feel game-breaking. This makes it so that we have to limit our group to fewer players or risk never finding a game. I love playing Overwatch in a coordinated group of 6 friends, it is by far my favorite way to experience the game. Unfortunately, these queue times have been making this almost impossible over the last few months.
I know the queue system is extremely complicated and there is a lot of under the hood stuff that we don’t see. However, from personal experience it seems that there is a much greater scrutiny placed on 6 stacks when looking for a match as opposed to 5 stacks. We are hoping that these restrictions on 6 stacks for console could be loosened, even if that means putting us against non-6-stack teams of a higher SR range. I understand that the advantage of having a coordinated team is a hard thing to quantify, making this a difficult problem to solve. However the queue times on console are getting out of hand and we would really like to see this get addressed.
