They keep the mercy mythic skin for a season where nobody will buy the pass.
So their fav cashcows will make up for it
There’s also the fact that the Eldritch Horror theme doesn’t scream “million dollar Mercy Mythic”.

Im not sure they care about “themes” for mercy.
She gets skins for anything.

The Thai artist who pitched the idea for more Thai representation in OW came up with the idea actually. Probably because it’s based on a half human/half bird Mythological creature and Mercy is a flying hero. (this artist is also responsible for Divine Monkey Genji and LW in general.)

They won’t give mercy a mythic, they get much more of a return from just making shop skins for her. Because mercy players are idiots and eat up every low effort recolour that passes for content these days.
