[Confirmed] Dev team actively diverted resources to OWL

And this forum is essentially the non-pro side of OW, so logically threads like this pop up showcasing that few people like it.

But responses exclusively from this forum do not prove that everyone hates OWL, just like how responses on r/competitiveoverwatch don’t prove that everyone loves OWL.

Mobility that allows him to reach the snipers, as well as the burst from pile driver. Plus he actually does big damage if you can land your shots.

That, and he has lower CD mobility than all of the pre existing dive tanks, has the mobility to get to their perches, and has a ginormous health pool to go along with all of that.

Nice now should the last fanboy understand why we only got 6 legendary skins for summer event instead of 8 … but 2 paywall skins.

saddest part about the intentionally misconstrued paragraph in tc’s post is that people are believing it without reading it in its context

i don’t think it’s true but it’s hardly a ridiculous notion

this stuff takes months to develop and without sufficient info, both opinions (it affected SG or it didn’t) are equally speculative

we don’t even know how far in development retribution was in fall

Are we not consumers the same as the players currently in the game?

Do we not enjoy the same Blizzard producys gunning down players and their heros in a struggle of dominance in a match? How are we different? Why would you think that way?

If anything the players who ignore the forums havr no idea or knowledge of what they talk about.

When I get on the mic and talk to others I change their minds and let them know the recent news with our game.

If anything they are the odd ones out. If they are not willing to follow news and trends then how do you know that they are willing to stick around?

Simple logic. The true fans are the ones who take the time to read and make posts when outside of the game.

So am I not a fan the same as you?

Even if I am negative wouldn’t that matter less as long as we play the same game?

Why should be feedback be censored just because its negative. Any and all feedback is consiered good feedback. Its up to Blizzard to turn it into something constructive.

Where did I say or imply that? I said these fora are going to say anything is negative and drown it in that. Fora are full if complainers as few satisfied with something feel the need to report that. No news is goods type of mentality. Whereas when angered people want to be heard. These fora do not accurately represent the playerbase.

You make it sound like everyone who doesn’t visit the forums are complete and utter morons when it comes to this game. I must wholeheartedly disagree.

I see more logical balance discussions on r/compow than I ever see here. News is also posted instantly to the reddits after it is announced. And r/compow’s discussions aren’t even the highest quality. By far the best ones are on r/overwatchuniversity.

I love this game. I love the way this game plays. But I also adore OWL. I watch as many Shock matches as I can, because I’m a big fan. I also regularly visit both r/compow and the forums.

Many of the best and most intelligent players I know never visit the forums. This comes off as super elitist and shortsighted. Maybe you should consider that the forums are, actually, NOT the voice of the entire community.

Forgive me if I missed something, but that doesn’t seem to have anything to do with what you’re responding to.

These forums are indeed very anti-pro Overwatch, whereas r/competitiveoverwatch is very pro-pro Overwatch (yes I just wanted to say that).

Both are what you would call “true fans” as both communities take the time to read, share, and discuss posts and news outside of the game. They just do it on separate platforms, and those with similar views sorta conglomerate together onto a single site with like-minded folks.

If you get 100 comments positive on Reddit and 100 negative on the forums, you still have a 50/50 split in “true fan” opinions. One isn’t weighed more heavily just because they decide to discuss here or there.

Okay.

I didn’t believe I was harsh on the players who are outside of the loop of information.

Anyways you do you. But denying the issues with this game will never help it evolve grow or improve. We can go further into that but I do not want to see like a know it all for just have a basic business course under my certifications.

And thats a beautiful thing!

We share opinions speak and converse. We discuss we engage with others!

Why must things be an echo chamber of the same ideals. Players shouldn’t have to submit to one side or choose a particular side.

Of course not we want different things we have different experiences. And as fans sharing is the best thing we can do as a xommunity but denying another person to share their own opinion experiences and ideas…just why would you censor that?

We are all fans. What I’m getting at is those who do not engage in conversations shouldn’t be included or counted as the only rela fans of Overwatch.

They may simple just want to play the game and not get caught up in discussion. So be it. So why add them in if they want no part of it?

I mean if I’m willing to engage in conversation with you why must I be labeled as a die hard fan who sees no fault with this game or a massive hijacking angry manbaby looking to spit something.

No. None of those things. I just like promoting even share fair behaviors and a teammate like behavior that is needed for not only this game but many more games to come.

We have to come together and accept each other. Not spite the other for having a different opinion

Negativity can be a good thing.

Forced positivity smokescreens any progress for the company.

And?

It’s like fixing a problem early that takes 10 mins to fix rather than having to fix it later which might take half an hour to fix when you don’t have half an hour to spend fixing something

when you are in a big business you are into the hobby of making money… i mean wow what a friggin surprise right

Are we suppose to ignore every bit of feedback and critique we give the game.

Let the company handle the sorting. How about we play the game and just continue talking about it freely.

I also find your attitude that everyone is a whiny brat disgusting. Seriously man? These are real concerns and you’re just going to dismiss them?!

We’ve had multiple reworks, a ton of balance changes, new game modes with their own maps, then on top of that, theyve maintained the same schedule they always have of event, hero, event, map, event, hero, event, map

Dont get me wrong, I’d love stuff faster. But let’s not act like development slowed down when League launched. Cuz it didnt. It stayed exactly the same.

I would agree that those of us who are active on forums and subreddits are the dedicated. We reach patch notes, we watch videos, and we discuss the game when we’re not playing.

The majority of the casual players just play the game, and that’s it. They are not the dedicated. They leave when a new game comes out. They mostly don’t even play the game on a regular basis. To them, the game is just one of many they can choose to partake in.

In a sense, we are the biggest fanbois… even when we criticize Blizzard the loudest.

We got less skins this event and blizz decided to put skins behind paywall. It is pretty much an indicator to me that the game is not in good shape and the modus “everything is fine” isnt working.

I think there’s a slight difference here.

r/cow is pro-OWL because it is a place dedicated to competitive OW, with OWL being it’s highest form.

r/ow or these bnet forums are not “anti-OWL” because these places are designed to drag in folks who dislike OWL… it’s by the niche nature of the OWL that the majority of the fanbase come to have an either ambivalent or negative impression of the League.

The simple fact is just that a small minority of OW players care positively about the OWL, while the vast majority either doesn’t care about it one way or another, or actively dislike it.
