Hello, ladies and gentlemen!
Is there a way I can customize my config so my game run 60% render scale instead of 50%? I am not sure it can work but if someone knows how config works and how to make such a thing happen I will be really grateful!
I remembered this post on Reddit I saw recently.

When you open the Render Scale option the [“AUTOMATIC - xx%” shows you your current Render Scale percentage.It’s kind anecdotal but I think it’s accurate.
Now if you go to “Documents\Overwatch\Settings\Settings_v0.ini” you can tinker with the “RenderScale” setting to make it 60%, 70%, 90% etc.
With a few leaps in logic I got these numbers:
"RenderScale = “5"” = 200% (used when you choose 200% in game)
"RenderScale = “4"” = 180%
"RenderScale = “3"” = 160%
"RenderScale = “2"” = 140% (used when you choose 150% in game)
"RenderScale = “1"” = 120%
"RenderScale = “0"” = 100% (used when you choose 100% in game)
"RenderScale = “-1"” = 90%
"RenderScale = “-2"” = 80% (used when you choose 75% in game)
"RenderScale = “-3"” = 70%
"RenderScale = “-4"” = 60%
"RenderScale = “-5"” = 50% (used when you choose 50% in game)
So yeah, 75% or 150% don’t even exist. Anyone using 75% is actually using 80%.
Now a big thing you need to keep in mind is that ANY time you open your options menu the game will automatically force one of the in game Render Scale values on you and you have to close your game and go back to Settings_v0.ini to fix the setting.
Basically just opening your options menu ruins this setting but if you never do that it’s possible to have a more custom render scale option.
Edit : If you set the Settings_v0.ini to Read-only it still doesn’t work and you have to restart the game if you happen to open options. You don’t have to fix Settings_v0.ini between restarts if you do that but that doesn’t help much.
It’s not working I hope guys maybe will find more recent solution. Even if i don’t open the options my game will still go with the 40% render scale
I support this feature request. Currently I don’t need granular render scale (I use 100% because I have a strong GPU) but I wanted this feature in the past when I played on a weaker PC.
Native resolution with sub-100% render scale is superior to lowered resolution with 100% render scale because it keeps the clarity of the UI (thanks to the devs who implemented render scale in a clever way).
I believe this is simply a limitation of the video settings UI (not having custom values in the render scale dropdown box). They should change it to an editbox+slider like in case of the FOV and FPS limiter or simply add some more values to the dropdown with more granularity than the current. With “Auto” render scale I’ve seen weird values like 66% that aren’t even round numbers.
If you’re looking to request a feature, it won’t be seen by the developers in this forum. Instead, please create a thread in #general-discussion to request something new
