It should be +25sr for a win and -25sr for a loss.
I don’t care if I carried or if I got carried. This is a team game and at the end of the day, we all earned that win as a team.

Yeah, just make it like back in school when everbody was happy and content with the fact of all team members getting the same grade while 1 Person doing absolutely nothing.
As someone who plays almost exclusively in the 3000+ range, I sympathize with people who are suspicious of the PBSR. But I’m baffled that so many people gripe about being “dragged down” by their teams while also hating PBSR (though I note the OP) understands the implications of what he’s asking).
This isn’t real life. This is a team game and you win by playing as a team.
PBSR creates perverse incentives, that is enough of a reason to get rid of it.
The problem with that is setting that way will keep us at our current problem since nobody cares to win comp anymore. Making it so that regardless how little you do you will gain the same as somebody who tried their hardest and gave their all. Is a easy way for players to just give up when confronted with challenge when you have your team as a safety net
Its gets annoying after awhile especially if you are me win/loss/win/loss +25 -25 each time , eventually you’ll realize you aren’t getting nowhere it should honestly stay, removing it diamond and above only made it
It wont matter because performance based mmr will still exist. Sr is just the face value. They need to remove mmr completely
But my torb plays man. MAH TORB PLAYS
It’d be better to remove MMR than PBSR.
Found the person who never had to suffer through group projects.
I’ve done plenty of group projects. I tried my hardest in all of them and I’ve never had someone who didn’t do their part. Then again, where I live we’re all encouraged to do our best ![]()
Honestly thats a terrible idea. People should be rewarded for playing well and given less rewards for playing poorly, especially in a game like Overwatch where you can get paired with 5 idiots I wouldn’t want to share the same SR as them. The good thing about Overwatch compared to games like League especially during placement games is that if you lose you can still get placed in the right rank for you as they take into account how you actually performed, its way more accurate than a simple win or lose ranking system
Get rid of it. It encourages dps overextending to build their stats. Instead of taking the game one team fight at time as you should. Not stat padding.
If there was a lootbox 300 yards away from the payload, don’t you think people would go get the lootbox if it meant a for sure game loss?
Get rid of PBSR.
removing performance based sr wouldn’t mean you always gains or lost the same amount, because the amount of sr you gain or loss is adjusted based on your starting sr relative to the everyone else’s in the match and the uncertainty factors
team members of what? overwatch isn’t a classroom, its a game, if you win a game in highschool football the whole team wins and advances…
this is provably false because this isn’t how it works in league of legends or dota, you are not going to be able to climb relying on your team without contributing with the removal of pbsr just like you can’t now
if you aren’t getting anywhere you need to win more… pretty simple, with a 55% winrate you will climb steadily.
the game cant measure all types of “playing well” accurately, playing well is winning with whatever strategy and winning a lot, thats it.
especially in a game like Overwatch where you can get paired with 5 idiots
“its my teams fault not mine”
its way more accurate than a simple win or lose ranking system
lmao no its not it cant even measure all contributions to a game properly there are people who were able to climb with a sub 50% winrate which should never happen.
So let’s say someone goes 50 - 3, has done 20k damage overall but his team still loses. Is it fair then that such a performance gets punished with SR loss as clearly performing like that he most likely outperformed pretty much everyone else in that match.
If you play really well and your team loses then you need to be able to gain SR too. Same as if you play really bad and end up winning it should make you lose SR.
But Blizzard and making the competitive side of their games good has always and always will be a massive failure.
If someone goes 50-3 and loses, that loss was in the minority. By being that good consistently, they will win 80% of their games.
