Zarya is not busted, Sombra is not busted.
People just don’t know how to counter. I’ve seen a trove of horrible sombra’s and zarya’s. And it’s not fair that those who main them are basically SOL because of the unfair bans that always target them.

I’ve never said Sombra is busted. In fact I think she’s subpar; literally any Damage hero will get more value even in a one-trick’s hands. I just think Sombra is annoying, And apparently so do a lot of other people. Annoying enough to take up a ban slot. This is also the logic when Doomfist and Wrecking Ball catch strays - they’re not OP, in fact they’re kind of bad. It’s just that nobody enjoys playing on the map with them. No one has ever said, at any point in the game’s history, “Man I sure am glad you picked Wrecking Ball!”
They’re dumb, obnoxious heroes and people get rid of them just to avoid putting up with the things. No one above silver thinks Sombra or Ball are OP, but everyone at every level thinks the game could be a little better without them.
As for Zarya, she’s a 1000 HP hero that does 190 DPS that penetrates. Her only counter in the OverSwap game that tanks are forced into… Is another Zarya. So unless one tank player is too big on ego to swap off when they’re getting microwaved down in three seconds flat, every map ends up with two Zaryas. She’s busted. This is why she’s banned every single game. I’ve seen horrible Zaryas too, no one is worried about them, and a system should not be built around the assumption a hero is played by the drunkest donkey on the ranch. She’s a dumb character, with an overdesigned kit, that warps the game, and so she gets permabanned.
Th same is true for Ana, except it’s not her entire kit that’s busted, it’s just nade. Nade is effectively a better Junker Queen ultimate on an 8 second cooldown. This nonsense has been deforming hit game for ten years, and every match where Ana has been banned just feels healthier; you see more tanks, you don’t see Kiriko forced into every lineup, your Damage heroes can do more than frenziedly try to double team the enemy Ana (they have to because a solo will get slept and killed).
The fact that these heroes are constantly getting banned, at every tier of play, really ought to tell you something about them. “Juzzcunnerdem” has been the jellyfish-brained response to every busted hero in the game’s run. You think it sounds smart, but no, sometimes a hero just needs to be nerfed or altered. And if the devs won’t touch it because it’s based on their grandma or whatever, then it’s a good thing the players have the option to remove th problem from the games they play.
zarya is busted, stop coping
No. They just find them boring to play against.
It is reactions to this from the “don’t like bans” crowd that shows thy fundamentally don’t understand the game, or the people who play it.
There is some residual “PTSD” Zarya banning in 6v6, but you should be able to play her here and there.
'Cept she was the second most played tank in T500 last season.
Winton was played more because he is a Zarya counter, and yet Zarya was still being played and T500 players were still getting sick of her.
Seems to me your anecdotal evidence of seeing bad Zaryas isn’t worth all that much

This is important because the first instance of hero bans on Overwatch (called hero pools back n 2020) was removed just weeks after being added because of huge negative outcry from the player population.
We can get it removed again, same way.

But, I vote to ban zarya because she’s a lazy counterswap hero to too many people.
