Way to disrespect the entire player base who play Competetive Open Queue.
Only going to reward those in ROLE QUEUE competetive despite OPEN QUEUE also being within the competetive tab?
Blizzard, you really have a way of pissing off your loyal fan base

Open queue comp is a meme mode of tank stacking at this point. But I really don’t see why it has never been part of the drives.

It’s also the original mode made for the game.

If we’re going to get irate and get out our pitchforks, then we really should be talking about Comp Mystery Heroes
I think the main argument is that Drives were designed to boost player numbers at the end of a season to mitigate longer queue times. Open Queue doesn’t need that kind of boost because it’s quicker to put together a lobby without needing to account for role restrictions.
Instead of being mad that it’s not generally your favorite queue, just play it for a few days. Most folks from other game modes aren’t too happy to play the mode either, just for different reasons.
Call it Role Queue Competetive Drive then
Don’t mislead and cater to just one queue system
Shows you how little thought Blizzard puts into their actions anymore.
Both me and my duo partner were genuinely disappointed and surpirsed that they completely excluded the entire competetive open queue.
With respect to other competetive modes (ie. Comp Mystery Heroes), Competetive Open Queue is available EVERY SEASON, and has been so, even longer than Competetive Role Queue.
Since when did Blizzard declare Competetive Role Queue the more important one?
I apologize if I’m a grown adult who doesn’t spend his extra time browsing reddit for the popular trending meme’s.
I’ve just simply stuck with what I have known since day 1, season 1, and that’s Competetive Open Queue.
Some can even make the arguement it’s more difficult to climb, but to exclude it entirely from what Blizzard promotes as “Competetive Drive” is merely a slap in the face for playing a mode they’ve implemented since forever.
Were you surprised the first time it happened, or just now? This is the 3rd Drive and they’ve all behaved the same. It’s a promotion to boost the Role Queue player base at the end of a season. It incentivizes players that are camping in T500 to play their main accounts instead of breaking the matchmaker with an alt account to preserve their T500 spot.
Probably when it became the more popular mode.
Really? My Open Queue was a full rank higher than my role queue ranks for the first 8 seasons before they all eventually caught up to Open Queue.
Weird, your comments suggest otherwise
For real. For those who know, OQ is really a chill mode when people don’t stack.
