Season 20. This season is absolutely weird for me personally and just curious out there if anyone has a similar situation going on right now.
For me I did all placematches for each role. Tank, DPS, Healer. Healer was mid diamond as usual. DPS was strange cause I got placed Plat. And tank was also Plat. Usually I’m in mid diamond, but this season if I played DPS I would have horrible healers, if I played Healers I would have horrible tanks and if I played tanks EVERYTHING was fine. I been losing match after match after match…etc this whole season and I’m starting to think it’s not even me at this point because this is unbelievable.
I mean I was 3304 as a healer I’m now at 3032. I solo queue and people may find this to be the issue and that I don’t join chat. But I have never joined chat, and I always do solo queue and I have never had a issue till now.

I accidentally did an experiment yesterday after playing about 16 matches and losing 13 of them. I was SoloQ and it felt like the game gave me bronze teammates vs the gold enemy. (Legit my last game we had a bronze widowmaker 1trick on our team.) Anyway I got frustrated and asked someone on the enemy team who I was effectively dueling if he wanted to group. We group and the games suddenly become easy. Not only did I learn that SoloQ is in fact giving me garbage teammates, but also that the game matched me against a 4400 player on an alt account.
I thought for sure the 4400 was carrying me, that’s why the games were so easy. When I went back to SoloQ the games were awful again. Dps healers who refused to heal and tanks that hid behind the dps. Then I queued with a friend who is also the exact same rank as me (2200 for reference) and the games were a joke again. All five games were somewhat even albeit slightly easy because they were golds.
I went back to SoloQ after this and got paired with an unplaced Mercy main and a bronze widowmaker 1trick in a 2200 SR game. The enemy went Pharmercy and Widow. So I’m convinced without a doubt that SoloQ is doing horrible things with matchmaking but grouping does fix whatever is happening.
