I just wanna clarify I am plat I am not in bronze T-T
Cause I think it is kind of insane that Overwatch has not yet added a system where you can regain or lose the competitive points you have/had due to the people using hacks to win or obvious throwers deranking to sell their accounts to others or use the accounts themselves in a bronze to gm/champion youtube/tiktok videos. Not that ik much about games like VALORANT, but in VALORANT you at least gain your competitive points back due to hackers from what I remember. Cause fair enough if people have a couple of bad games where their gameplay is bad, but when you can see people obviously doing bad on purpose, I feel like it is unfair to the people on the team losing and to the winning team for gaining free competitive points due to these situations. And also, why on earth did overwatch think it was a good idea to reduce the “win 50 games requirement until comp is unlocked to 20”? This is making it harder for people who are hardstuck and solo queues in lower elos (bronze-plat ish).
Apparently starting next season they will be refunding any SR you lost while playing against cheaters but you have to wait until they get banned first.

I just lost 5 competitive games in a row due to brand new smurf accounts on the enemy team absolutely destroying our team. I am in Bronze 3, and I’ll never climb out of it because this happens in just about every game. Reporting does nothing. Blizzard just simply does not care in the slightest about its player base because account numbers are all that matter to them.

This isn’t why you’re not climbing.
Because you’ll be getting them on your team just as often (which won’t be that often in reality. We just remember bad stuff more vividly).
You’ll be bronze 3 because your not doing enough to help win games consistently.
Fortunately, Bronze 3 is a breeze and I can carry provided there isnt a 40-0 smurf on the other team with a brand new account. So, I don’t think it’s because I’m not doing enough, since those games are my only losses.
The problem is, I had five of those games in a row which just erased all progress I had made.

Your rank isn’t about one session. It’s about hundreds of games.
Those 
ones happen, but it all levels out and you’ll win just as many because they are on your team than you lose.
If you’re carrying the games without them like you claim, you should be climbing pretty fast.
I say this as someone who used to be bronze. 470sr, back in the days it actually showed below 500. I climbed to GM. Smurfs, whilst annoying, will not stop you.
I have played a further 3 this morning. Same deal. Brand new accounts on enemy team absolutely stomping. Waiting patiently for them to be on my team but apparently blizz decided its my game sanctioned losing streak.

lol, youll never know will you. it’s unfortunate that youre not low enough rank to see how things REALLY are in low ranks. the games down here are very stompy, VERY stompy, so much so that youd think the teams are certainly not balanced.
also, let me guess..you play with a pre made group of friends all the time..amiright?
Nemesisprime is a player who got to GM level, then decided they didn’t want to try that hard anymore so now plays at “70-80% effort” and sustains at diamond rank. The only overwatch they know is a distorted version of the game, so of course it follows that their perspective is wildly out of touch.

possibly, i dont know NPrimes situation, other than i assume they are a high level player, so their views are skewed. I think high level players talk about what happens in low level games would be like me trying to give informed exposition on high level games. I dont play there so I dont know. He doesnt play in bronze/silver so he wouldnt know.

Grinded, spent way too much time and effort climbing from bronze, to GM. Took years.
Now, because I don’t shot call, or worry about synergies so dipstick thinks I’m smurfing because that only gets me to high diamond

You said you put 70-80% effort into matches and just play for fun, I guarantee you it’s more than just not worrying about synergies, and not shot calling. You said you don’t like to grind hard anymore. You said “I play to have fun” specifically.
I know what smurfing is, and you’re technically not a smurf, but when the outcome is the same thing there is very little difference. I’m not mad, just disappointed that people like you exist. It’s against the spirit of competition, a truly shameful engagement.

I am the only one in all my games. So, you can make up what you like to justify your anger. But, what I said is what I do.
Correct. It’s a video game afterall. If you’re not having fun, do something else.

Lol. What you on about. I bet you most people aren’t playing at 100%. Play because it’s fun and hope to win and climb as they go. There’s only a small % of players that actually grind the game, try to improve every aspect of their game play and maximise where they can get to.
I was one. It sucked all the joy out of playing the game towards the end. So when I got to where I was content. I stopped. Took a step back and re-evaluated what I wanted from gaming.
If you want to treat the game like it’s some deadly serious venture. Fair play to you. But I wouldn’t worry about theory crafting on the forums if you are. I’d just focus on what you do in game.

You’ve had to create some false narrative to justify your anger at a stranger on the internet… I’d suggest that is more problematic than anything.
What makes you think I am angry with you? I think you’re also in a minority, most players who engage with comp are really driven to improve. People like you belong in quick play.

I’m driven to improve. I just don’t sweat it out if people aren’t talking or playing a comp. I just do my thing and learn to play a little better on a hero.
