Since my first ever season on comp, I’ve placed bronze despite winning ALL my placement matches sometimes and getting tons of kills and having so much healing done.
I think the comp placements need to be more accurate. I’m kind of sick of it now.
I won 4/5 of my placement matches in support all in which did gold healing even got 23 kills as Mercy in one and yet I placed 1005.
Blizzard fix your comp placements, I’m sick of it.

Wins, losses, doesn’t matter during placement. I always place at my actual rank. Is it normal for players to be so toxic during placements?

After your first placement matches, the placements that come afterward will not stray to far from the rank you were last seasons. They basically are like playing 5 normal games with your SR gains and losses hidden. Only the first placements will really matter.

Every time a new Season begins, topics like these arise. It doesn’t matter, the fact, that it has been said like million times before that you always place where you ended last Season. People still rage over not ranking up during placements.

I think placements only matter on your first time doing it. Today, I purposely soft threw by using my non-main support in the hopes of deranking to bronze again. But even though I only won 2/5 games, I still got placed 1885SR. Which isn’t too far off from where I placed last season (1900SR). Not to mention some games were unlosable no matter how hard I threw. So the matchmaker tries to place where you think you belong based on your history of which SR you’ve managed to grind to, and also how your raw stats compare to the same players in the same elo.

This is how the matchmaker always works, and is not exclusive to placements. If the MM is confident in your skill level, you won’t be going anywhere. Why do you think so many players buy alt accounts?

Placements are broken. Places me 700 SR lower than my peak from last season even though I will win like 4/5 or sometimes even 5/5 with good stats etc. so I spend the season climbing up to my true rank with a 70-80% Winrate and then can’t be bothered to have fun trying to go higher because it will just put me far lower again next season.
cry? if you wanna get higher, then just climb. placements dont determine your rank as much as you think it does.

This so much, im usually mid diamond, place in plat regardless of wins, drop to gold then roll my way back to diamond and give up until next season.

Placements are so you are eligible to recieve the rewards, you finish the placements to get the extra Competitive points for your golden guns at the end of the season + a few cosmetics

The placement system is rubbish. Scrap it and just put everyone where they finished off the previous season.
Only if they haven’t placed the previous season should placements be a thing.
Firstly, I have you blocked dingledong because of your rude behaviour. And secondly for the record, when I mean by “soft threw”, that doesn’t mean I didn’t try to win the game. I still tried, but I was using the heroes that I hardly play like brig and mercy. And thirdly, I don’t understand what your issues are with me, but I suggest seeking help for your mental illness.

Why should I reply to a person who doesn’t understand what I literally just said even after clarifying? I’m not going to repeat what I said. So yes, I’m still going to block you since you’re just being toxic and extremely rude to another person for no reason even after the clarification has been made (which shouldn’t have been necessary and just a waste of time).
