I dont expect backfill… But i expect something other than a loss… Why is it the teams fault when someone leaves? why is the whole team punished?

Depending on the system added, it could easily be abused. Playing with friends would incentivize one player quitting an already lost match so the team doesn’t lose rank. Even if you did add an exception that player groups are punished together for leaving (which is probably worse), people would just leave the group then leave the match

For groups the whole groups loss the SR. For singles its no loss.

I hope the Devs are smarter than this

Backfilled all the time … it’s why it says “searching” when they leave.

Backfill was never in ranked. Only quickplay and arcade.

Considering how all new accounts are now gated by a phone number, this won’t be a valid reason. Once they burn through their OW1 alt accounts, they will be screwed.

So with enough time, that won’t be a thing. It won’t be worth it to save your teammates SR if it leads to your only account being banned from comp.

They lifted the requirements - on console at least, that means people still can have the 7+ Smurf accounts they made for free.

Classic case of being worked up by your own ignorance.

Because people could abuse it, actually. However, something should still be done about leavers. Have people select rather or not they want to allow for back-fill comp game. If someone joins your comp game before you get back, tough. You’re out.

Nah Stop the game entirely…

I cant stand playing comp due to leavers… 6 games so far and 3 games with leavers for what ever reason…

It doesn’t say ‘searching’ in the team list when someone leaves? Ignorance indeed.
Used to be people would fill spots when others left, or it did when I played it. Game’s been around for years.

Why are you people playing comp with horrible servers not working properly. That’s on you plus they never will add backfill to comp because it would be a disaster.

I agree. Players really dislike backfill though. You will get a lot of resistance here.

Leaving rarely occurs in comp from my experience. Most of the time when someone leaves the match was already lost anyway so you usually deserve to lose SR from it because you were part of why your team got rolled.

Other games have had that mechanic for years already.
Forgot which ones though. Dirty Bomb maybe? I forget, I’m not super big on the competitive FPS space.
