Competitive on Switch

Hey! Just wondering if anyone plays comp on the Switch with crossplay off. When I queued it said it would be <7 minutes and I have been waiting for 45 minutes now.

I honestly think the population is really low on the switch

What switch base there is for ow, I don’t see them caring about comp. Not hating, I own a switch.

i have a switch also and have not chosen to play ow2 on it. the switch isnt designed for games like OW2

not trying to flame but isn’t the max FPS on switch 30 frames? I didn’t even know OW was on the switch, I didn’t think a switch could handle running this game let alone give a playable experience. - I can’t imagine people who try OW on the switch sticking around long… If you actually got good at the game you’d hit a wall of being held back by the hardware wouldn’t you?

I’m just speculating here but tbh I bet the experience is even worse than I’m imagining right now… When everyone hits their ults I’d imagine frames drop to half of that 30… let me know if I’m wrong?

I honestly just downloaded it for funsies and wasn’t going in with a super competitive mindset. I’ve only played a few qp games on it and just wanted to see if there was any community. I’m very casual so the few games I have played I didn’t notice any major frame drops, but the quality compared to PC is lacking. I saw a video of a top 500 comp game on Switch which is why I was interested.

I didn’t even know you could queue out of cross-play anymore. I tried once in OW1 on PlayStation and it took over an hour to find a match. I doubt it’s going to find one at all on the Switch.

The one benefit the switch does have over other consoles is the Gyro aiming. For whatever reason the PS4/5 doesn’t get that, even though it technically could. If they ever brought a switch pro out that ran at 4k 60, that and a switch pro controller would be the best way to play the game on console, by far.
