I like the competitive modifiers because it gives us more insight into the matchmaker.
Issue – One aspect I don’t like is when there is a leaver in the match, but the competitive modifier stays active. For example, I had a match where my teammate left; at the end of the game, it said I lost more because it was a “reversal.” In another match, the enemy team lost two players, but the “uphill battle” modifier was applied, and I gained more.
Solution – When there is a leaver in a match, remove the “uphill battle” and “reversal” modifiers. Important: Do not tell us when/if you implement this change because then it will encourage people to leave the match.

Just remove all modifiers. We don’t need to be disadvantaged 60-40 anymore. This system’s been a joke for 9 years and now we know exactly why. So Blizzard, just admit we told you so. Your system is a rigged casino with no clocks on the wall and 0 competitive integrity. Also, shame on all the people here who stood up for this system since ow1 you were wrong and you’re the reason this took so long to get revamped.
PLEASE REMOVE:
Winstreak (Streaking not related to player SR, doesn’t exist in sports for that reason)
Uphill Battle (MM too inaccurate due to smurfs)
Consolation (MM too inaccurate due to smurfs)
Loss streak (Streaking not related to player SR, doesn’t exist in sports for that reason)
Reversal (making a comeback should not award points, its part of the game)
Expected (MM too inaccurate due to smurfs)
Calibration (OK with keeping. Helps smurfs get placed faster and ranking up/down by 40% increments feels way better than 20% increments)
Volatile (Penalizing us for losing a game in a “new” rank we’ve already surpassed makes no sense. It also quickly kicks people out of their peaks that they worked so hard to get to, giving them no time to feel out the meta, gameplay, skill difference and they don’t get enough time to learn how to “hang” in that rank)
Demotion Protection (pointless. confusing on the progress bar. Just derank/re-rank. It feels better. I could live with it staying along with Calibration but would rather it go to avoid convoluting the ranking, MINIMAL IS BEST HERE)
