Competitive Matchmaking?

Now I’m not usually one to complain about things, but am curious about the current matchmaking for competitive.

I already know I’m gonna have people tell me to “git gud” or that I’m just a bad player

I was curious about how the matchmaking works for competitive? I was 2900 last week and since then I’ve only had a couple of wins and the rest losses, because I get matched against a team that just destroys us, now I’m almost in Gold. Could someone maybe explain how the matchmaking works, or show me something that I could read to get a better understanding and try to work through it?

Thanks

Ask and ye shall receive.

Works poorly and you have to fish around to try and understand it.

They probably went with a complex solution for what should be a straightforward and transparent system.

Where else do you have a competitive sport or game, in which the rules of rankings are not clearly explained? It makes no sense, other than try to keep people playing and it’s working the other way around.

The truth is there is no team work in ocerwatch. Just role the dice and take some blood pressure pills bc your gonna need it

Blizzard will not share the way their matchmaker works, as this will allow users to abuse it

Your Skill is not a single point, but will fluctuate depending on how you play in each case (your consistency, map, hero, team composition etc)
losing a lot of matches (especially in a row) is surely frustrating, but it happens.

my suggestion would be: care less about SR and more about improving in the game. if you improve, SR gains will follow

note: everyone improves so you need to improve faster than others to gain SR
note 2: gl hf!

I am just wondering how to even manage to rank up when you always seem to get people on your team that play silly.
Other players are dragging you down down down. Ranking up seems almost impossible some days when kids are online going around trying to be heroes and getting as many kills as possible without caring about the main objective.
Would ther be possible to have a system where you can choose not to play with people under a certain age?

That is just a theory put together by the writer interpreting the blue posts. It’s not how it works. Lots of holes there big enough to ride through with a truck.
