So what is the point of keeping the current game playing on 6v6 if you’re going to be forcing the OWL pros playing 5v5 on a separate game? You don’t care about anyone new coming to the game to grind it and have asperations of going pro for it. And when these OWL pros are going to be playing this “new” game, what exactly are they going to be playing, are they going to be playing with 6 new heroes (the heroes that the Overwatch game is owed) or are they going to be literally playing Overwatch 5v5 with the same maps/heroes and I guess maybe New York? For 2CP or Assault… what is the point for making your player base playing those maps still? You were also reworking Paris and Horizon, but apparently scrapped that since, you guys admitted that it’s a terrible game mode and you’re replacing it with ‘Push.’ Finally, for Push, you guys invited streamers to Blizzcon 2019. They played ‘Push’ and the Brazil PvE mission, and guess what, you allowed them to play 6v6… courtesy of Stylosa’s Youtube channel Overwatch 2 Gameplay - New Push PvP Mode Gameplay on Torono! WORLD EXCLUSIVE! - YouTube. I am not a game developer, but using logic it seems that you can delete 2cp now and add in ‘Push’ to the live game.

Honestly, that’s probably better for the meta. Let ladder form it’s own meta for once. Hopefully it will be less stringent.

Not just for a couple months but for YEARS(to come)!!

What exactly is better? Nothing I posted about had anything to do with meta, what I posted about was about the live game and making sure that you don’t have two groups of people playing on an entire different game.

It’s been that way since OWL started, imo.

Less meta slavery…

The pros in OWL were not playing an entire different game. In 2022 is going to be the first time the pros are going to be literally playing a different game than everyone else in the world. And guess what, those pros, how are they going to practice? They’re practice on an early build, that’s what the devs called it, so they are essentially playing high stake matches (for millions of dollars) on a beta game. And what about all the aspiring pros? They have literally made it so there is no point for anyone else going pro for their game. They don’t want anyone new playing their game professionally. They don’t even want new casuals playing their game considering they don’t even want to work on their live game.

I mean figuratively, not literally. There’s such a small percentage of players at that level, it may as well be a completely different game. NFL and little league are both football, but the difference is huge; The plays they call, the athletic ability, the training, etc etc.

No, it is not the same. The NFL and high school football and below are the same sport and they are playing with the same positions. The competitive ladder is high school level compared to traditional sports. Going through with this idiotic plan of making pros PLAY AN ENTITE different game. 5v5 is not 6v6 and is fundamentally a different game. And not to mention, these pros playing 5v5… they can’t enhance their skills or stay fresh on the game in their free time because if they boot up Overwatch in the off season or on an off day, they are playing a different game than they are playing for literally millions of dollars. 5v5 Overwatch is not even going to come close to playing the same way as 6v6.

Ok elite pros play 6v6, problem solved.

I think what you really want is OW2 pvp to come out earlier.
