They should start now, not in 6 days. Give us the extra time that you’re announcing the drive event for us to participate in the event. Giving us a heads up is nice, but why not just start the event now and make it longer so more people can participate and enjoy the event without feeling rushed to complete it?

Because thats kind of the entire point of the drive. Its only point for existing isnt to give people rewards, its to get people to play during End of Season, only it needs to give rewards to do that.
Im guessing their metrics either say match quality only starts to degrade beyond what they’re willing to accept in the last week, or if given longer time people either complete too quickly and stop playing, or spread their games out too far, thus not really improving the EoS gameplay.

The drives are too short with the match quality degrading too bad for it to be fun

This heads up is to let us throw games so we can complete the drive easier. If the event was up… That would defeat the purpose of giving us time to throw, obviously. Like???

Not that I throw but I totally get what you mean. I do like when I start to drop ranks before or during the comp drives because then it makes it easier/faster to get them done in lower ranks
