Competitive Drives and how to succeed

For the poor normal person that plays anywhere between an hour or two at most, this event sucks.
Comp especially becomes incredibly toxic and people will immediately blame each other the moment something goes wrong, and god forbid you die since youre about to get flamed in chat.

This is my 2nd comp drive getting 3rd tier for both, without grouping for either, about 70~ish games for each run. I’ve seen a lot of people getting into comp especially this 2nd time because they missed out on the first, and it can get really rough for those people.

  1. Pick one role, and get real comfortable
the best winstreaks came from an inhuman amount of mastery, being flexible isn’t always good in this case

  2. Don’t get upset if you lose
you need to rack up about 4 wins in a row in order to move up the drive progression, and assuming your rank is where you’re meant to be you’re gonna lose half of those games. Dont get upset, take a break and come back- go into drives playing for fun.

  3. Avoiding the scoreboard
the scoreboard is the most toxic and easily one of the largest killers of what was once a good game into a loss, numbers don’t always mean good performance. You’re probably at one point gonna end up as the ‘loss leader’ for your team even though you’re alright.
Ignore it (mostly), and just play the best you can to work with your team.

and how to succeed

Step 1: Never queue for Comp until Blizzard demonstrates it respects the mode (and the playerbase/game).
