40 minutes in the DPS queue and it can’t find a match? WTF

Comp has a pretty low player base. Its not like back in the day when the game had a huge population. Its really quite low compared to back in the day. I see the same people over and over again on both the accounts im playing regularly. hell I think I actually played a series with the same team against the same team the other day lol 3 in a row
That will happen if you have similar MMR and queue at the same time.
Which is quite likely if you’ve all just played a match as you’ll be pressing queue about the same time (unless you take a break)
So not sure thats quite the “proof” you want.
So yeah like I said a low population. Im in the west coast USA. If the game had a healthy player base id see a much wider group of players. Its pretty much any time day or night. Not saying the game itself is totally dead. But comp, almost nobody plays at this point. Even streamers are typically in QP

Yeah mainly play quickplay to avoid the tilt fest in comp. Its not a competitive environment anyway.
Low quality matchmaking drove off the playerbase.
This is what happens when a team digs in their heels and says “ackshually its working fine” instead of fixing a problem.

This. None of my streamer friends play OW anymore, nobody in any discords Im in are playing OW anymore. They all say the exact same thing. Tired of the bad matchmaking, or they just outright quit during the content drought. Predominantly though for those that do still play they see no point in waiting for a bad match when they can just play QP and leave if its bad

Most that left just got bored. The game is fairly stale, so it’s no surprise.
Bar a few maps and heroes, the game hasn’t had any significant change this year. They probably need more drastic balance changes more often.
Nerf meta heroes to the ground for half a season, rotate things around a bit.
True, it may just be that the game has a lower population now. I have seen the same players often.
But still I feel I shouldn’t be waiting 40 minutes to find a match in the DPS queue.

no forreal tho last night my support queue took 20min which for me is the longest ive ever seen it go for the game after that took 15min i was just like wow i remember when it used to be like 1-5min

There’s no reason a plat 2 should be waiting that long for a ranked game if their population is what they say it is. Especially since gold and plat have the majority of the playerbase in them.
Supports the popular role atm. Queues are longer for it. Also, theres no mention of when they are queuing.
Is what it is. Will be tank next season (if the new tanks actually fun to play).
Plus, queues were shorter when OW2 launched because they made the MMR range bigger to do that. People complained, so they reduced the range, which means closer skill variances but longer queues. It’s what the forums wanted, now they are unhappy.

This is an insane amount of time, and sounds not normal lol, surely something else went wrong, what rank? My queues are like 3 mins absolute max
