Its a bit of a unmatched team when you have Silver fighting against Platinum. It should be Silver-Gold, Gold-Plat, etc. Some teammates were even mentioning it that it was too much, and we lose bad.

I heard open queue is even worse. I kinda miss playing that mode but not if they are going to mix masters with golds.
Yeah it can be worse. You could have M1 dps player in OQ who is P5 => just starting and our boys want to contest that as dps when their highest is P1. Still love that game mode over 5v5 RQ.
If you have a silver against a plat… There will be silver and plat on both teams. In a stack.
It wasn’t the reason you lost. Based purely on what you’ve said, you lost because your team got distracted by something meaningless and didn’t do their job.

Whilst open queue does now just bundle wide, narrow and solo queue players all in one big pot, the same rules for matching apply.

DPS is fine in OQ. I personally play tanks, but I’m a tank main.
If someone wants to play DPS, go for it.
I mean I won’t denie them their fun, thats why I don’t q oq unless I wanna stack tanks.
the games I played oq, I haven’t lost to a dps once.
Lost when i had dps vs no dps I am sure this shifts more towards dps favour if you go higher in ranks as tank and support stacking allows more mistakes without dying.
Around plat where I play, I assume lack of focus fire makes dps rather obsolete for many.
Probably also depends heavily what kind of dps, Reaper, bastion isn’t to bad as they melt tanks. And making things like soujourn better in better ranks as they actually shoot and kill the supports.
Open queue is the best place to play ball.
Fun games, and you aren’t playing against people who’s only expression of skill is the hero select screen.
