Nobody likes a leaver in competitive. It makes the match almost impossible to win. You also can’t have normal backfill because that wouldn’t be fair to the player who joined late into a potentially losing match.
You could add backfill to competitive mode is through an opt-in only system. Backfill would still not allow you to gain or lose any skill rating, but you can gain competitive points and bonus exp for filling.
The players originally in the match would still gain or lose SR of course.
Sorry, but no thanks. The backfill queue will be almost non existent. Gaining xp you think would be a a motivator? Levels are worthless. If wanted xp I would just play QP. Also, comp points? Those whopping 3 you get. Sorry, but I play for SR and I am willing to but a huge majority does too and would not be in a backfill queue.
how about. If you win 5v6 (unless the leaver is right at the end) you gain double SR. If you lose you should lose a bit less SR.
That would motivate the 5 players left over. But yea… I bet people will immeadiatly will try to abuse this
That is why it is opt-in only. You don’t have to do it.
I would like to remove the thing that you can leave the group after Xseconds after the first leave. When you are 5 you can still win. But people start leaving throwing it all.
I like the idea. I suppose it wouldn’t allow anyone who simply dc’ed to rejoin the game though. But I guess that doesn’t really matter since that person already lost SR anyway.
