Comp players in unranked

I’m honestly so pissed off and so irritated. How are you going to force players to get 50 wins of unranked just to qualify for ranked when all you face are these highly skilled rank players? You have to be a complete bonehead to think that’s logical. I honestly am sick of losing every unranked match because these enemy teams have 30+ kills while my team has only maybe 12-18. it’s not fair. and I’m so sick of an unfair comp requirement.

You probably don’t want to play comp yet anyways if you’re having trouble winning since you’ll get placed at a low rank and from what I’ve heard the really low ranks are really horrible to try to climb out of because of the sheer amount of smurfs.

Just don’t stress it too much, try to improve and have fun and eventually your MMR will start to lower and you’ll get some more fair games

Blizz should put all obvious smurfs into their own queue instead of putting them up against longtime low rank players who are getting destroyed by them. It’s obvious in 10 matches where a player belongs.

Competitive feels like a flat tire these days nothing to show for it. Why most flocked to QP because well can’t give a logical reason other than not having to risk a badge icon changing. Also welcome to open matchmaking in QP which opens up to this a GM in with bunch of lower tier players.(In QP, Bronze-GM can group together no restrictions)

It should just be games played. Not games won to get in comp. Especially since none of us care about comp as a whole. So who cares if more players can gain access.

I just think the idea of requiring new players to get 50 WINS of unranked with unraked being how it is now is an absolutely unacceptable ask.

They had to put wins in there or the sheer amount of bot/smurf throwing you would see would be astronomical.

It’s not bogus. Most players go into competitive woefully unprepared as they still don’t understand how synergy works within a team. I realize all stats reflect an individual, but those aren’t always the best indicator for how a player might do within a team. I actually think 50 games of unranked is too low - it makes it way too easy for those aforementioned smurfs to make it into Comp.

That said, Blizzard has a lot of room for improvement in better teaching players how to play well on a team. Through a combination of in-game training that focuses in on team participation and contribution, and stats in post-game reports that better tell a story as to why a team lost or won.

Most of the time, the community just tells you to “get gud”. That is really unfortunate because it ignores the problem, which is really understanding how to play the game well with others.

i would suggest trying to win.
ideally on heroes you like to play.
try to improve and find flaws in your gameplay.

not doing so and expecting to get better at the game is like expecting to pass a hard exam without any prior practise.
and complaining everyone else is passing it who was practising.

never look for errors from others or blame your lose on smurfs. its always you!
thats the first step to greatness.

if we don’t need 50 wins, my 40 new accounts are already waiting to enter comp once they go to high for me to enjoy brainafk I would make a new one.

if i look at my past, i should have never played comp compared to my current mindset.
i was only a liability

LOL.

Didn’t take long for someone in the community to come out with the “get gud”, albeit nicely. TL;DR, somehow losing is always somehow your fault.

Destrolock, try playing 1v5 against a group of players. I’m pretty sure you’d quit and not be able to do anything to improve to the point where you could win that game.

Most people play 1v5 and that’s why so many matches are so bloody lopsided. Stop pretending like there isn’t a problem here.

Your recommendations only works when a match is close and one side loses by marginal error. In those cases, then yes, you’re absolutely correct. However, 80% of the games played are not like that.

you can lose that game and still think you played either good or bad.

i can get carried through games and lose games, if my Performance was good for me i am good with myself. why get mad at that afk tank player? farm him next game.

selfreflection can be a strong tool to grow
instead of just saying well can’t win with that bot.
so you tell me you played absolutely flawless? i doubt.

or you just say i am nr1 and can’t be any better.

why do you feel that comp players are inherently better? Like yeah a new player shouldn’t be put vs Masters or whatever, but a Gold is just a normal player and Bronze is basically a house plant.

new accounts are set to the average MMR (maybe slightly below it) and it adjusts from there. You can’t have a new account only queue because worst case scenario, smurfs would eat it alive, and best case scenario is that they all learn nothing because they’re playing against other noobs who don’t know what they’re doing.

I never asserted I played flawless. That wasn’t my point at all.

My point was that most people who play the game don’t know how to play well with others. When you have 2 or 3 on a team like that, you’re not going to win. When 1 is like that, then yes, that player can be carried.

I think they may actually factor in IP address from the client. That means that while your MMR may be reset for a new account, they’ll add some padding on the upside or downside based on where your old account is at.

If you ask me, I’d ask for 100 wins not only 50
Now that the game is f2p making alt account or “smurfs” is easier than ever and all the issues they come with

Btw if you can’t win in qp then why would you be thrown into comp? Your first games will be around mid mmr (gold-plat) and trust me qp is full of low gold and below players
And if you read in the comp section you’ll notice the mmr system is super broken and won’t get you fair matches if it’s what you’re looking for

I’m not a big comp guy but I don’t want to turbo sweat for 20+ minutes. That’s basically it. Just play qp most of the time. Sometimes I sweat sometimes I get rolled whatever at least it’s only a 5-10 minute match. I’m queuing tank my queue times are basically 0 anyway

I once again ask anyone why they’d play comp after they hit GM1

Top 500 is worthless especially given you can easily get it in the beginning of the season on tank down in low masters.
Play enough to get 50 wins at all and it’s pretty much guaranteed.

It means nothing.
There is no reward.
Comp points don’t matter anymore.
Comp titles are temporary and sorta cringe.

Top 500 used to mean something when the necessary requirement to achieve it forced the minimum rank to be well into GM

It used to mean something when there were permanent rewards for finishing the season in top 500

Comp now is a waste of time.

Quickplay is faster, less toxic, oddly more competitive yet casual in the sense of stakes, and most of all it gives more experience faster.

I play only quickplay now because the incentive of comp is non existent and the reward for playing quickplay is greater through experience gain alone.

Quickplay is the fastest way to grind hero level which happens to be the only permanent rewards left in the game. Gold Dva background at level 200 here I come.

Now, season 9 may bring me back as the new ultimate rank exists and it would be good to hit it for the sake of it. If it brings no permanent rewards then it would be a one time deal and I’d go right back to quickplay.
New emerald weapons is at least something to grind for so there’s that.

If you are struggling in quickplay, do you have any idea how much harder it’s gonna be on actual comp? quickplay is a humbling experience to low rank players. They aren’t as good as they think they are and no one is gonna hold your hand when you get in comp, 7 times out of 10 your losing streak is actually your own fault. The other 3 are throwers, leavers and smurfs. If you learn how to outplay higher rank players in quickplay then you are gonna do just fine in comp.

You also cant be upset at high rank players for playing quickplay, comp right now is a hot mess with no rewards or actual structure. Ive seen people go on a 5 winning streak and somehow still derank even when they didn’t lose a single game. For me personally, I have no reason to aim for top 500 when its lately getting filled with cheaters on both console and pc and there are no rewards like in OW1. So I stick to quickplay in order to level up the battlepass faster, I dont sweat as hard in quickplay but I do occasionally slip up and get team wipes if Im feeling like it lol.

See you in 2 weeks when you make a post complaining about losing in ranked

If you don’t have the 50 wins for ranked, you don’t have all the characters in the game. Therefore, I don’t know why you already want to play ranked. Besides, playing in ranked isn’t going to automatically make you win. You need a better understanding of the game systems and hero interactions before you’re comfortably able to win games and give value to your team.
