Honestly this is just a rant. Not really looking for advice, disparagement, or encouragement.
I don’t know what happened, but the rank disparity in matches has gotten even worse in the past two weeks. Smurfs are still being allowed in matches and Diamond plus players are in gold for some reason. More people are throwing or just not paying attention. I’ve just gotten to the point where I can’t even take comp seriously anymore. You cannot climb in this game and if you do, it’s luck based if you’re playing support like me. I got jade weapons for my mains so I’m just gonna be satisfied with that, but comp is cooked if you’re trying to climb or get into the rank you belong to in the first place.

It is so cooked. Even the enemy teams in my matches questioning my rank. They say nah you are not belong here. Your movement, mechanics, aim aint gold level. When i say i just dropped from diamond because of the matchmaking, everyone in the lobby being sad about Overwatch 2 again. Because i am going like 34 - 3 as dps with most damage in lobby and with crazy accuracy, i can even barely win. Most of my matches being loss. Now i am stuck in gold lobbies for a while. In my matches, enemy teams mostly says I don’t belong gold but matchmaker says the opposite every single time. If you are thinking smurfs are everywhere, no. Most of us higher rank players forced to play in much lower ranks and i am one of them. My current Support rank is hovering around Diamond 4- Diamond 2 even with this bad matchmaker and i hit mid masters on tank role even before season 9 tank buffs. My dps was Diamond too but now it is gold.Thats my experiences about matchmaker

There are definitely high level players in gold. I managed to hit high Plat 2 for the first time in support and I just fell like a stone back to gold 2. Running into players that never miss their shots. I can’t even improve because when I match those players, my teammates can’t. If I can’t match them, there’s just no hope. I genuinely know I am a plat support. I’ve never been more comfortable in that bracket and the games were less sweaty. We just had leavers and the poor match making was less of an issue. Eventually the mm system caught up and I dropped.
As long as the system is like this. Players cannot improve because they’re getting curb stomped or stalled. Can’t climb because players are placed wrong.

Same here. Sucks that Blizzard can’t get a dev team to balance or matchmake half decent.
Absolutely wild, and it makes me feel bad when I drop 50, 60, 70 elim games in comp.
(for info, queue’ing with a gold friend) It sucks because we’ll barely rank up after over performing over and over. Performance stats just need to come back. Carry’ing shouldn’t mean staying in a low rank but getting lower skilled people to compensate. Just let people rank up because it’s agonizing to spam games until you have 2k hours to finally move up because the rate at which it’s accurate is so slow it’s not enjoyable to even care or try.

Support isn’t hard, never has been. Super easy. Best DPS, best self heal, easiest role.
Just no. You can’t carry brainless tanks and dps players.

I have peaked gold 1 almost plat multiple times this season to get loss streaks then go 50/50 make no progress than just stagnate its so frustrating
Same happens to me in supp-role, 3-4 times. I am also firmly convinced that the roles in the low brackets will be filled with AI bots.

game lost alotta players.
certain times of day, blizz fills teams with crappy AI bots…hence all the steamrolls and unbalanced matches

pretty much yea, right now im just going win loss win loss win loss its so annoying, I just lost the last 3 games due to a severe tank and dps canyon where they just would not switch and just go in and die, i know its the end of the season but come on it doesnt take much of a brain to be like huh this isnt working lemme try something else. Last game my dps got out fragged and out damaged by an enemy Kiri, like these players cannot be real
