i am masters 5, why is the general quality of games just so insanely bad? I can say with full confidence I havent had a single game that actually felt fun and fair since season 2 started, and it was rare in season 1
the matchmaking is so insanely horrendous and the fact the devs have pretty much just talked about how “good and fair and balanced” its supposed to be but also admit to completely messed up the ranked system without changing MMR
comp is literally never fun, its almost always BS unfun meta, or just a stomp either way
this game is already on its way out and im ngl I dont want to play it anymore
its not a skill issue, its a fundamental issue with the way the game functions
at this rate ill probably just go to a different game with an enjoyable competitive system, or at least with devs that don’t cater to casuals
QP seems far worse to me, but they really need to match up better. I guess it’s the influx of new players it needs to know where to place. It should just automatically place them at bronze 5 until they prove otherwise.
I really do think they’ve loosened the matchmaker by quite a bit. There is just no way DPS and tank queues are at 1-2 minutes, and sometimes 3 minutes. Maybe that was believeable in S1, but not season 2.
Games tend to be a mix of really bad and really good players and you end up having to figure out who the ones that are carrying the game and target them to win.
It’s actually unreal. I played in a mostly Diamond/Masters lobby one game. Next game it was Bronze/Silver players and 2 console players grouped who said it was their first game. I think the grouping and new players really mess up MM and they think that if both teams MMR is even that it’s fair when it 100% is not. It does seem like they realize that with the planned changes, but some games are just so awful
mentality or not, it just isn’t fun, and if i’m not having fun why bother playing. idc about losing or whatever, i just want a game that feels like I deserved to win/lose/whatever, rather than it feeling like a coin toss
People have a hard time understanding this when you’re talking about a competative game.
It’s supposed to be a second job you know?
If game is unfun to the general playerbase then twitch numbers and OWL numbers should go up right? RIGHT?!?!
if you get a half-decent team then tank is far and away the most enjoyable role in the game, but then there’s games where it feels like banging your head against a brick wall, way too many times ive had to explain simple positioning and stuff to my team, and how to use the space i make, it gets frustrating after a while
That’s wild. I don’t even play role que QP until I understand the basics and usually watch Youtube videos to see all the tricks a hero has. I’ve avoided comp in OW2 just because the MM seems so much worse than OW1, but maybe I’ll play it again if the new MM changes fix it. There will always be super one sides matches, but they seem so much more frequent in OW2 than OW1
I don’t even care about winning in QP, tbh. I’m there to practice for comp. I’m leaving because I can’t practice, lol. Yeah, the MMR is terrible. You have to be really good on support to win because it requires carrying to win in poor teams and it’s hard to carry with support.
im just no longer playing comp at this point, i am not going to play ranked 8 hours a day. its not 2016.
there is zero incentive for me to climb up the ranks just to be put down again at the start of next season from no fault of my own.
i have seen comments like “if you truely belong at that rank you should be able to climb back to it” and yes i am 100% certain i can, i just dont want to. if i drop rank it should be because i have lost games, not because i didnt want to jump into a virtual meat grinder all day every day
