I was playing competitive on xbox trying to finish my placements. I won 7/10 placements and did not tie in a match. In the previous season that i played in i was 1743 silver (I am no god) and when I check to see my new rank it is 1399 bronze. Are you kidding. Help daddy Kaplan.
You see a lot of posts about comp being broken because of the matchmaking smurfs alt accounts but I hardly you can blame comp for you placing lower than last season. It just sounds like you weren’t performing well.

If that happened then u probably played with bronze players in ur placements it sucks but that happened to me too
If that happened to you both then you’ve both played in another season. Placements mean very little, its mostly show. Nobody jumps rank in placements if they’ve played the game long enough.

That’s what I mean. You don’t jump up in placements. You fell back to another rank.

Well yes i am aware that is supposed to drop you ~100 sr but not 400.
If you comp is broken, run a diagnostic on your PC.
This season was a bit weird. I just finished my placements and lost the most I have ever lost. I won 2 out 10 yet I placed the highest I have ever been ranked. Ill take it though. Its just weird!
