I used to have an awful attitude towards this game when I first started playing. I was “one of those” that I now mute and avoid the moment they open their mouths. I was one of those that deserved to be perma banned from this game. I honestly believe that I was like the most toxic player ever.
Was one of those who, before RQ, would say “no shield no heals”, “we have Torb/Sym/Bastion on attack, gg go next”.
I mostly blame it on my rough start in this game. Fell into a wrong crowd when I started playing and literally did not know any better. Did not know how the game works, how smth should be played, and got stuck with Gold/Plat border Bronze players who every single game we played, yelled and trashtalked their teammates every time they died.
Luckily got out of that group of players, started watching coaching videos, higher ranked players playing and started focusing on myself alone. Deleted everyone on my friend’s list (now it is empty, I literally have no one on my friend’s list), decided to only solo Q, and it worked best for me. I am not saying that you have to do same, only said what worked for me best. Something else might work better for you.
Also the most important thing I personally learned is, the less you expect of your teammates, the less you will tilt and you will enjoy the game more, and you will push yourself even without realizing it to compensate for whatever it is that your team is lacking at that particular moment or match or game. You will find yourself improving without noticing it. You will notice it later.
