So went down from Master 4 t(Low Masters) to Low Diamond on Tank, Masters 2 to Plat 1 on DPS (High Masters to high plat???), and Masters 1 to Diamond 3 on Support. from last season to this season. Checked with friends, but some friends with worse ranks ended up higher ranks this season. Why is the derank so bad anyway? unconsistant, and seem to be there to piss people off. BTW ended masters 2 on DPS and it showed masters 3 when i logged on. Fix your bugs and transparency please.

Yeah the same thing happened to me. I checked after the patch, expecting to see diamond comp points from my DPS, but mine went down to Plat 1. I ended support in G1, but it was raised to P5 after the patch? Idk if it’s a bug or that was meant to happen?

finished plat 5 on all season 1, logged in to season 2 and gold 4 on all !!!
Same thing happened to me, massive derank for no reason. I really hope this will get fixed, because I’m really upset. At this point, why play comp? And by extension, why play Overwatch at all?

yeah same happened to me. I was diamond 5 in support was deranked to platinum 1 and didn’t receive the correct comp points and get the title because of it

Same issue. Check other forum posts and make sure to bump them so Blizzard sees these.
In addition, I noticed all of my competitive stats from last season are in “Competitive Season 0”. The “Competitive Season 1” is missing off my Overview page. Maybe related?
Apparently no placements this season. After 36 seasons of placements and basically just giving you the same rank you ended on, they decided to just start you off 4-5 ranks below your finish. “New progression system”. Finished G2/P1/G1 and started S3/S1/S2, after climbing through 2 different Bronze 5 bugs.
This happened to me as well, only in lower ranks, so now I’m back into Silver from Gold. This derank/decay makes it really frustrating to try to rank up again since the lower ranks are filled with way more people not counterpicking or playing as a team than ever before.
I play several hours every day, so i see no reason for the rank to decay like this, unless I will get a massive rank boost after the first 7 matches.
I finished on gold 5 on heals, now it shows bronze 1, its 11 ranks…
