My computer crashed so I immediately restarted it and went to rejoin the comp game but apparently by that time I already got a 15-minute ban. I wasn’t gone longer than a minute. These bans they hand out are really annoying for the actions that cause them. This is the only comp game I’ve left in months. The only other game I’ve left recently was a quick play last week to join my friend. I dunno, feel like there should be a warning or something instead of an instant ban for my computer crashing and me leaving for 1 minute.
No mercy.you still left a game
Tell your computer to not crash out.
Unironically, the solution to your issue is to find out what made your PC crash out and fix it.
It sucks you got timed out. But I’d be more concerned if my PC was acting up.
For competitive it technically is fair since it is an actual career mode and isn’t for casual play.
I dont like the leavers penalties thing in Quickplay because then people dont discern the difference between QUICKPLAY and Competitive (RANKED) play.
Something something people butthurt about having to backfill a match in QP…
But in Competitive gameplay, it has no backfilling for it. So its only fair that they require you to go through the process of doing checks and balances like you would an actual job. People are playing there for keeps, reputation, stats and potentially for their professional gaming channels.
The Checklist for RANKED play:
- Stable internet connection tests.
- Checking your power supply for stable 5.5v power output when your GPU is under load.
- Forcing windows update medic service to be stopped via WubX64.
- Checking packet stability.
- removing any overclocking that you are doing on your PC.
- Checking weather reports
- Terminating all other programs running.
- Turning off all other program and software updates. including news feeds.
- Turning off your phone.
- Q’ing for it when you know there isn’t going to be someone coming into your gaming room and interrupting you.
- Making sure your pet is nowhere near your computer equipment.
- Making sure that you are on a wired connection and nobody else is going to use that network when you are in game.
Yeah I get that, but to have the expectation of your computer running perfectly every time you play is a little insane. Like I said, this is the first time my computer has crashed in a while. Plus, I was gone for less than a minute, its not like I left the whole game, so I feel a warning should have been the first thing to hit me. It isn’t that big of a deal I guess since this rarely happens for me, just annoying.
If i hear crash out one more time…why does the new generation always stick to an old phrase and repeatedly apply it to everything until its devoid of meaning
Iys not inventing language, its ruining it
Whats the new hip lingo then? The only thing I’ve heard so far to date about a computer that crashes (ha) is another company’s support staff calling it a “Welp, it pulled an Amber”.
- Dial Up - 56k modem.
- Rotary phone
- 8Track
- Cassette
- CD Player.
For computers:
-
Surfing the internet / Browsing the internet.
-
Crashing was originally a factory term for the OLD CNC equipment. Typically it meant if the program stopped working on a machine the tool would crash into the chuck and people just called programs on a machine erroring out: “a crash”
- BSOD - Blue Screen of Death.
- RS - Red Screen of Death.
- Programs were called PROGRAMS or software, not something stupid like “Apps”
-
- Apps could be refered to applications, or appetizers served at a restaurant.
Browser: internet search program.
With how people talk now these days. it seams as though the IQ pool is actually dropping. “APP” vs Software.
or hearing someone called 'breakfast" “breaky” yeah… .no
