Hello!
I don’t know what’s going on, but I didn’t change anything, and I didn’t get any warnings for being toxic or leaving games…
But every game starts out voice working, and at some random point during the match, I get muted, and I can’t un-mute myself. Doesn’t matter if I’m pleasant as a peacock (they are very pleasant you know), barking calls at teammates, or complimenting Mercy’s rez…I get muted.
So, what gives? Did I get reported enough now after three years of playing OW, where they’ve ‘secretly’ squelched me now? I feel paranoid. Like the devs are secretly trolling me and my account. Hahahah, look at this gold player trying to use voice in game! Someone reported him for talking too much last game. That’s happened three times this month. Let’s put the ol’ squelcharoonie on him. 
Or, are they rolling a new communication wheel out, so that they can remove voice chat slowly from the game?
Let’s be honest, no one talk anymore. Not in most all modes of play. And since I’m Gold/Plat, even comp rarely has chatter. In fact, OW has become such a strange world now…it’s like going to party of mutes, and being glared at for talking. Why should I feel weird about making calls or saying hi? People literally say, ‘bro, why are you talking in qp?’
Sheesh. This game is all about communication. Why is talking a bad thing?
I remember my generation (no spring chicken here) begging for VOIP. Ya, that’s what we called it…and now gamers all have it, and not only do they not use it, they make those that do feel bad about themselves.
Odd world we live in.
I’m not just venting here…I really am wondering if I’ve been squelched or something. No changes were made and it’s happening now.
OW is one of the best games ever made I think, and I wish I could share an eggnog with Jeff during the holidays, but boy oh boy this generation of gamers are an odd bunch. Especially the OW community.
