Y’all act like Kiriko won’t be in every game. The odds of BOTH your support not having access to Kiriko in comp is teetering on zero percent. Most people who queue for support actually want to play that role, and they also haven’t had a new support in three years. So if y’all think they won’t have Kiriko day 1 in ranked then that’s some delusional thinking. If anything they’ll be arguing amongst themselves to swap. So you guys can chill with the “my team doesn’t have a Kiriko so I lost argument.”

With our current knowledge, comp is only locked for first two weeks for Kiriko, not all heroes and you can still play comp while missing heroes

then what about the tank in december? what about 2 years down the line with about 5-6 heroes could be missing?

This hero is already unlocked for Overwatch 1 players. This doesn’t mean we don’t have any problems. The upcoming heroes will be locked too and won’t be given away like this one.

The most important thing people are forgetting is that having an extra hero is irrelevant if you can’t use them effectively.
Who cares if I can pick Widow if I can’t hit the broad side of a barn with her? 
I’m better off playing someone else.
Having extra heroes is irrelevant if you can’t use them effectively. As it is there’s been 32 heroes in OW1 for almost 3 years and like 99% of the playerbase can’t play every one effectively.

Source? Cuz all we know is Kiriko is locked out of comp for first two weeks. They won’t lock the player out of comp if they don’t have all heroes. If I’m a dps main or tank main and I have no intention to queue as support, then I don’t need to buy kiriko.

The leak from 4 chan said that comps are locked for 2 weeks entirely when a new season start
But blizzard pretty much confirmed that leak was fake when they said kiriko would be locked for 2 weeks.
So ranked are already there since release. So no locked ranked

There are people in these forums who believe you will not be allowed to EVER participate in ranked if you don’t have every hero unlocked. They think if I don’t have Kiriko in my roster pool then I won’t even be allowed to queue for comp. I want sources for that cuz I don’t believe it.
