Clockwork Vendetta's Alternate Comp is Officially a Staple in OWL

We saw it in every match yesterday: Orisa, Hog, Mei, Hanzo or Widow. I predicted this would happen a month ago, but I did expect more Torb. I feel like the Toronto Defiant will look a lot better on this stage since they actually have a Torb specialist in Mangachu and 2-2-2 enables Clockwork Bunker to be the strongest composition in the game. Some people didn’t think it would be real until American or Korean Contenders played it, but as I expected, it went straight to the big leagues.

:hugs:

I’m going to love these guys especially if they pull some shinanigans out of their !*# and do well.

They are dominating EU Contenders right now to the point where teams have to mirror them to stay competitive:

yeah, i’m waiting for mangachu to bring out the :hammer:

Except, are they going to nerf, roadhog, mei, widow, ana, etc?

No, but they will nerf Sombra.

Are they going to nerf all the lower tier characters now too? While sym gets a 6th buff because #internetlogic?

Do you know how many times I’ve argued with people about this?

Put it like this, this is my 3rd smurf account. Want to know what happened with the first 2 accounts?

We really don’t know because it’s Blizzard, but the answer is likely no. The difference between this comp and Sombra is that the sum of its parts is greater than any individual character, though Mei is the centerpiece to put it over the top. Sombra can work very well in a dozen different comps while doing the exact same thing, but Mei can’t be equally effective like that. Bunker enhances her strengths.

Sigma should shakeup bunker comps, just give it some time.

I agree, but he won’t be legal in stage 4. This isn’t a doom and gloom thread, just a confirmed previous observation that Clockwork comp is currently the best comp in 2-2-2.

Torb won’t be picked in OWL, simple as that. Will they still nerf him? Yes.

Mangachu took over the hammer kill leaderboard the week he joined OWL. There will be more Torb.

It’s all good, just wanted to note that a change could be around the corner when he’s in play.

He seems tailor made to take a dump on bunkers, a shield you can stick right in their face, a mini defense matrix and a big jesus rock to knock bastion on his butt.

its just orisa hog variations. i dont think they can claim to invented that. their comp was like orisa hog mei torb hanzo mercy?

Remember we have an entire new tank incoming.

They definitely invented Mei Bunker. They are all one tricks who 6 stacked in EU GM until that became disallowed and ran this comp to an absurd 80% win. They decided to join Open Division for the luls and ended up dominating EU Contenders so hard that people are mirroring them. Their matches get literally 60 times the views of an average Contenders match. OWL players and coaches have taken notice and adapted their style accordingly. The funny thing is they only benched Engineer, their Torb player, for MukMutta’s Widow to stay competitive if teams ran double sniper and Pharah on them. Now, it has become the standard to not only cover the weaknesses of the comp, but because you can’t run triple DPS anymore, so it has no hard counters.

That’s awesome, I wish there were more one trick teams.

what was the original comp though, i thought it only had 1 healer? i dont think it was 222. it was also when torb was op.

They solo healed only if they ran triple dps with Mei, Torb, and Hanzo/Widow/Doomfist. The standard has two healers.

I only watched one match last night but Hunters didn’t even bother to run Mei/Hog comp most of the time? And still defeated Philly that insisted on running everything meta.

Because Philly depends on Carpe to carry them instead of playing like a team.

i thought the whole point was they were 1 tricks who only ran 1 comp. if they are switching around its not much different to any other team using orisa hog based comps since they are meta now.
