Obvious sarcasm, but anyway, Control is the best mode. Both sides of the map are identical, and there are multiple rounds so teams get a chance to recalibrate and try again in a new setting. I feel like the OW2 modes have tried to recapture Control’s greatness, but never quite get there.
Clash is too hit and miss. You get a good game and it can be great and exciting to play. But too often you get a game that is over in 3 minutes with a 5-0 stomp. This happens often enough to make people hate the mode.
There is something still wrong with the mode that makes snowballs/stomps too frequent. If they could tweak it so more games were closer then a lot more people would enjoy it.
The 2 maps they have favour heroes like junkrat and reaper way too much and I get a bit tired of facing random junk spam in Clash after getting it a few times in a session.
What I like about Clash is stomps being over so quickly. Majority of games are stomps (on both sides of the coin) for me. So having to not slog through a loss or win for so many minutes feels nice. 3 or 4 minutes max and you receive full exp. Not bad.
Clash favours dive and brawl so I’m into it. People still find success playing some poke on it, but when aren’t ranged hitscans+Hanzo handheld?
IMO it’s fun if your team understands how to strategize, when to push, when to cap with 3, and how to back off and regroup. The only issue I have with it is we’re in OW2 and the matchmaker does whatever you want to call that, so clueless teammates in the mode are more a detriment than usual.
I said that was the only issue, above, but one small tweak is making attackers 3rd capture progress ever-so-slightly faster. Getting 3 full points in a fight that never ends but the enemy team is obviously in loser’s queue just seems like a waste of time for everybody.
Even if they eventually take, it’s not like they’re going to reverse sweep except for an extreme minority of the time.
