It is the epitome of two groups of five mindlessly throwing cooldowns at each other. There’s no strategy it’s just a version of team deathmatch and for some reason it’s in the core mode.
This is worse than CTF, leave this in arcade.

Exactly. There is no thought processing. Whoever team wins the fight just walks to the next point and repeat.
Literally. Even attempting to recontest (which basically requires you to have staggered yourself at the beginning of the last fight), causes you to be staggered for tbe next fight.
I think they should add a really long time before the points unlock. There should be enough time to regroup and have your immobile heroes make it back. They need to stop making modes that require lucio speed boost.
It’s better than Control at least.
wait, a team fighting to win an objective? Why does this sound like every other mode?
at least its not flashpoint
Staggering enemies is huge for this mode as you may stagger them long enough to win a second objective without much of a fight needed and if you can stagger someone on the second objective as well its basically a gg. Isn’t that enough strategy?
It literally looks like smite
Im on the fence with Clash. Its interesting and it does feel like a new mode. I think maybe with a different map other than Hanamura’s Sister map, it could work out in the end…
Ssshhh.
No-one tell him the entire game - and the entire class-based shooter genre - is just “Team Deathmatch on top of an objective”.
The genre started out as “Hey, here’s this cool arena-deathmatch game called Quake where you win by getting the most frags. What if we divided into two teams? And what if the win-condition was territory-control or capture-the-flag instead of frag-count? And what if we had different character-classes that you could choose from, with different weapons and abilities?”
It’s all team deathmatch with extra steps and always has been.
I really, really like Clash. It favours brawl and actually grouping up. It’s also got an anti-snowball mechanic. I’ve seen 2 caps and then a full reversal, or 2 enemy caps, 3 ally caps, 1 enemy, 1 ally, 1 enemy, and a final fight for all the marbles. I don’t think there’s any disgustingly abusable sightlines, either (which should be the case for literally every map).
Sometimes the strat is to let them take the point (or two) further from their spawn so you can have an easy fight and win while you regroup, then mangle them as you move forward with spawn advantage or a fully grouped team with ults. Sometimes you can push up and brawl/kite them in the streets while your one teammates stays behind to cap. Sometimes you flank and occupy a support in their backline so they are forced to lose the main fight if they peel. Exhilarating!
Just because you don’t see the strategy doesn’t mean it’s not there.
Outrageous! I’ll have you know that peak Overwatch is an intricate game of 5D chess, requiring infinite strategy and finesse. Okay, my turn. My DPS shoots one of your supports in the head. Ahem - checkmate.
Hanaoka is not a bad map, but the time needed to unlock a point should be longer. I don’t understand the obsession with making the game fast, Overwatch feels better with slower matches.
Another problem is the size of some areas of the map that are too small.
Hanaoka doesn’t feel like Hanamura. I wish the assault maps would return without being completely changed.
They could rework the 2CP maps, converting them into 3CP maps with a first point that is easier to capture by adding more open areas to advance.

Hanaoka can coexist with Hanamura, but it will never replace it.
What I don’t understand is how my team dominated for most of the match, pushed them back to their last point, then they regrouped and only pushed us back to get the neutral middle point and we lose.
They should AT LEAST have to take 1 point on our side to win.
They have no idea what they want to do with this game it’s been a constant stream of throwing bad ideas at the wall and hoping any of them won’t be bad when they’ve all been worse than bad.
Having Hanaoka with that horrible mode in the game while Hanamura, my favorite map, literally cannot be played is insulting.
I like clash
Please don’t get mad at me it’s my personal opinion
It’s gives me a lot of XP if I win
Disagree. It used to be that there was a territory your team generally controlled and a territory the enemy generally controlled, and if you found yourself in the wrong territory you were at a disadvantage. And there were chokepoints that required coordination to get through. And the fight had lulls where the teams were moving, grouping, setting up, poking, and not just fighting all the time.
That is, there was strategy.
Streamers used to ridicule low-level play for being nothing but a constant brawl. Now the game has moved toward being a constant brawl for everyone.
Boring.
I dunno I played clash over the weekend and it wasn’t that bad in my opinion
The only reason I kept playing it was to level up in the battle pass because of the 1200-1500 XP it gave me every match
